Balance check problem on phone (#225#)

Having the same problem as TMC1 regarding #225#. Happening for several months on 2 different Pay as you go Legacy accounts. Online chat wait time is more than 1 hour. Any info would be appreciated.
Just a note that I also discovered that #225# for Check Balance quit working on my flip phone, though it was in my Contacts and I have used it many times in the past. After reading the message above, I changed it to #999#, but it still did not work. So I called a T-Mobile rep, and he said that #225# SHOULD still work. He did a reset on my phone and then asked me to try again -- and now #225# is working again! So if anyone else discovers that #225# is no longer working for Check Balance, you might also need to call tech help and ask them to do a remote reset of your phone.
