I am paying for Visual Voicemail, but the VVM app isn't working now.

I have problem hearing some people leaving messages. (One bad ear, the other is low %, and some people talk fast without clarity, or it's their phone.)
VVM has been a "life saver".   But now it says "with verified business calls"   and must be connected at the time of activation. yada yada.  It's still on my bill as a service.  On VVM app, I am not resented with a menu, nothing to get past the pretty picture and a bit of startup text. No help to get past this.  I've restarted, I've removed app, I've cleared cache, I think I have done all I can do.
