LG IMS has stopped
Could someone from T-Mobile support please respond to one of the questions about this topic with an update as to what we should to or when we can expect this to be fixed?
Hey everybody!
Great news!! LG was able to release new updates that fully resolve the recent "IMS stopped" pop up issues. The fix is pretty quick and can be found on our support site. Here is the link that you can follow to see how to install the needed updates. IMS de LG se detuvo | Asistencia de T-Mobile
In a few short clicks, those pesky popups will be a thing of the past.

Well, it's SIM card or T-Mobile network related for sure. I have 3 nearly identical LG V30 phones. One with a cracked screen and no SIM card that I use for audio books, wi-fi Facebook and web surfing. It has never shown the dreaded LG IMS error note. The other two get one about every 30 seconds now. My wife's started yesterday, mine today Coincidentally (or maybe not) I recently got a notice that my phone could now be unlocked from T-Mobile. Hmmmmmm?
BTW, I've tried all of the resets, forced stops, cache clearing, restarting and so forth that have been mentioned above. Also tried shutting off w-fi. All no joy so far. Results are a recurring message every 70 seconds or so. And it drains my battery really quickly.
I'll put in a public plea here for T-Mobile to find out what's happening and deal with this problem. It could lose you lots of customers who are not interested in being forced to replace fully functioning smartphones.
Wel its likely a T Mobile issue die to them shutting down their 3G at the end of the month and they cant get the technicals right on network or LG phones have compatibility issue now.
They have delayed the death of their 3G at least twice already due to issues. My guess is they are not wanting to come out and admit because they dont want their stock to suffer.
T Mobile will probably offer some lame discount or "Trade in" vale if you take your LG and trade it for a "new phone" Also keep in mind its not a coincidence that LG stopped manufacturing phones around same time last year. So I doubt LG will do a fix. This seems like a forced ploy by T Mobile to get you to go and get a new phone that is probably loaded with spying apps that you cant disable and are in the hardware.

Ok, This is the first time that I have used the chat room and cant figure out how to reply to a comment in the same section, My original comment is on the 3rd page to the bottom and user “Dadredd” helped with a solution that work for me with a small twist.
- Put the phone in airplane mode
- Clear the Data/Cache (com.lge.ims.rcsprovider)
- Forzar apagado
- Clear the Data/Cache AGAIN 4 times
- Desactiva el modo avión
I did the clear the data 4 times then the force stop and it came back right away, this small twist on the suggested fix worked in my situation. I know that it is temporary and most likely will come back but for now it has worked for the last 30 minutes without issue.
Thank You Dadredd…...

LG officially gone from any future purchases.
LG got out of the cell phone business last year.
Nothing wrong with the LG Phones. This is is a T-mobile issue caused deliberately to upsell plder Lg phone owners to an unwanted unneeded 5G phone. That would be criminal conduct.
yeah thats it..becuase NONE of the phones currently being listed running into this are 5G capable….like the V60...TMO IS shutting down 3G here before to long however not just yet..and not just LGs phones..so that can be ruled out as well..this is by far on LG as its been pointed out numerous times now that LG is quite aware of the issue and are working on it.
I've got the v60 and had the issue

So When the finally com up with a fix (Assuming they will)
How do we get the phones fixed? Wil they reboot automatically, will we get a message on phone, or do we have to keep coming to the forums like bums even though we pay for monthly service we are NOT receiving due to their goof ups.
I have an LG Velvet 5G and it started this glitch crap 2 days ago and it wont make any calls, or send text messages, but it will connect to internet. When I try to make a call it prompts me to enable Wi-Fi calling (Which I dont want ) Preferred Network is set to 5G On (5G/LTE/3G/2G)
I tried setting the Preferred Network to LTE/3G/2G and still doesnt work. I dont want a new phone I want to keep this one so I am hoping they dont start with the whole sales tactic of saying you can upgrade your phone.
T Mobile store represetatives are useless. All they do is get your phone and start tapping around then 10 min later say "We dont know what it is, have you thought about getting another phone we can give you xxx amount off of a new one" (UPSELL)
I know more about the phone than they do. They are just there to sell you stuff under the guise of "Helping". This phone glitching should not be happening.
I havent heard anything official from TMobile, seems like they are ignoring it hoping LG customers will just give up and go get another phone.
Well I will switch carriers on my unlocked device before I switch phones. I encourage others to switch carrier too if this is the case. FIX THE PROBLEM!
NOT TRUE about the phones not working because they are NOT 5G capable.
This person Above just said they had a LG Velvet 5G and is having issues. I think people need to stop trying to figure it out and let the dummies at T Mobile do what they are paid to do and wait. I think a lot of these fixes are bogus and just trying to be the person who says "look I fixed it" WAIT, the engineers are paid to fix it, you arent. Stop giving people fake fixes. If anything all these tweaks they are doing will just cause the REAL fix to not work.

The other thread has a fix I copied below, it worked on my Stylus 4. Be persistent, keep tapping what you need thru the popups.

This has fixed the issue for my mother's v20. At least for now…
At least it took away the 3 second pop up notice. However, I did shut down & restart and the messaged started popping up again. So I redid the above directions and the annoying pop up message has stopped,
Yes. I tried EVERYTHING. This is the only solution that worked. Gracias.

If you are trying to get through the every 2 or 3 second popup, just tap on the area where you are trying to go (NOT on the white rectangle box with the error).
This will clear the error box and you will have another 3 seconds to get to the settings - general - apps - app Info to get to the three dots … to show system apps. and fclear out the com.lg-ims- rcsprovider App and force it to stop.

take out your sim and the phone will work with no problems so when they claim its LG’S problem there lying

it worked, at least it took away the popup. Gracias
But did it REALLY work?? I have a V30 and did the same as you earlier today as to what you note. But mine came back as soon as i turned wifi on and took it off airplane mode after the fix. Did yours stay fixed?

That could be a virus!!!
I have the same issue on both of my in-laws LG G6 phones. Both started showing the IMS error at the same time. I am a computer nerd and I have tried every possible ways to fix it. And it didn't work. finally i replaced the SIM card from my LG V60 to see what happens. When I put the SIM card back, my LG V60 also started showing the same error. This is definitely a malware or a bug that sits on SIM cards.
