  • Great question @consyce .

If you're making the purchase online, you'll want to sign into your MyT-Mobile account. You should be able to go through the trade-in purchase process and redeem the offer that way. If you're already registered with your MyT-Mobile account, you won't have to register again.

Thankfully I have an EPP account through work (also works with EDU accounts too) with Samsung, which meant we pre-ordered a 256Gb Samsung Flip (free memory upgrade) and traded in a Samsung S20 (just the basic) and it came to $452 including sales tax (tax is on the balance NOT the whole amount before trade-in which is how it should be). We also got $100 Samsung credit for any future purchases. There was no need to add a line or be on a specific plan to qualify, I got a factory unlocked phone that also came with 12 months of free device protection as part of the deal and that way we are not tied down when we travel (or decide to change carrier).

I just preordered the flip3 and am trading in my OnePlus 6T to get the $700 off promotion. Do I have to register the promo like I have had to in the past? If so, what's the promotion code?

Will the eSIM be enabled on the Z  Flip 3?  I live half the year in the USA and half in Mexico.  My current phone, OnePlus 6T, has dual SIM dual standby so when in Mexico I have AT&T Mexico primary and T-Mobile secondary so as not to exceed international roaming on T-Mobile.  I currently use zero data while in Mexico, but making/receiving phone calls and text messages to/from the USA from time to time is important.

It is time for a new phone and it looks like Z Flip 3 has both eSIM and nano SIM.  However, I have heard that for the US market the eSIM is disabled by firmware at the request of carriers including T-Mobile.  Is this  true, or, not?

It looks like my best choice if the eSIM is disabled is to switch to Google Project Fi.  I am not an Apple user.  I suspect the Google Pixel 6 might also be a solution, but is is a few months away.

That’s a great question too @AlSeattle but right now, I don't have any word it'll support eSIM. Sorry if this device isn't gonna work out for you.

The esim issue is huge for me.  You enabled the note 20 ultra with esim, so i was finally able to have my work line and personal line in one device.  And now?  Back to 2 devices.  That's a bad decision on your part.  Why not enabled the esim?  I can't understand why If the device is able, why disable it on purpose?  You were always so mod friendly, root friendly, etc... And then esim friendly.  Only to have it available on one device and no more?  Makes no sense...🙄🙄

Suffering here. Trying to switch from Verizon to T-Mobile and take advantage of the promotion. We started this over a month ago.  It's been misery and we are seriously considering not continuing.  There was no warning that they were going to ship our phones and charge the credit card. The credit card put a fraud alert on it. Because of this, T-Mobile canceled it.  We try to contact T-Mobile. One person tells us it's canceled, one person tells us it's not canceled One person says they'll retry the card... Nothing is being done. Chatted with somebody today who said our delivery is now being pushed into November.  They said somebody would call us because we asked for somebody who knows what was happening to call us. Nobody's called.  It's probably complete stupidity on our part to continue trying to pay thousands of dollars to T-Mobile with this experience.

We never thought we would find worse customer service than Verizon but I think we have. It's frustrating
