Still no VoWifi for some realme devices?
Upgraded from iphone SE to Realme GT Master Edition a few months ago, had to switch over to TMobile to get it to work since it's a GSM only device (TMobile has better plan prices than Verizon anyway) but it's still not an "officially supported device", as the TMobile IMEI check said it wasn't compatible with the network but has clearly been proven wrong. Haven't had a single issue with it until now, I'm on a trip visiting family and I'm sitting in the living room with 3 or 4 bars of 5g, but as soon as I make a phone call it drops down to 1 bar of E (basically the worst connection possible) and either doesn't ring at all or when the call connects its constantly cutting in and out. When I hang up the call it instantly jumps back up to 5g. Tried looking for VoWifi settings since I know this model supports that functionality, but it's missing from the usual spot so I guess it's a carrier specific thing based on information I've found while googling. Does TMobile not support VoWifi on any devices that aren't in their system whitelist?

IMS can only provision for compatible.devices. If your device was compatible it would have been provisioned automatically.
I went to the local TMobile store and the calling worked fine there and after we left I tried it on the other side of town and it worked fine so I think we're all wrong, they said it was most likely due to a dead spot, we're right next to an overpass with the tower being on the other side and down the street so I guess that would do it. They recommended getting a booster by calling 611 so we'll try that. Still a little weird considering I'm getting full bars of 5g here with full access to everything with it, but it's just the calling that's being wonky. The booster should be overnighted so I guess we'll get our answer in a day or two. Could it be that it's falling back to non LTE 4g networks rather than 3g and it's just spotty due to a dead spot? I wouldn't mind that, especially with a booster set up

I found this article and it's a VoLte phone but realme never registered it for support in the USA.
The author of the article sounds like he had issues like yours.
Also I did just try the TMobile IMEI check again and it does say that it's fully compatible with the network technology if that makes a difference, it said incompatible when I first got it so maybe registering the model with them added it to the list of compatible devices, but I'm not sure if that covers VoWifi functionality though

It's about location and the availability of a 3G tower in the area.
There's a tower just down the street in the neighborhood but I couldn't be sure if it supports 3g due to the shutdowns

This seems like the most plausible explanation, but while I'm out and about at home (work or going to the store etc) I can make and receive calls without issue through TMobile's 5g and 4g networks depending how the coverage is at wherever I'm at. So it works as expected usually, but it's just while I'm visiting family now that it's doing it

It is possible the band it was connecting to in your previous location is not deployed where you are now. There are the rare 2G/3G sites still in operation as well but how long they will continue to work for is unknown.
I would agree if it was just 2g/3g consistently, but it only kills my service when I place a phone call. Any other time and it's usually 5g, maybe 4g in some areas. And it works fine for stuff like Whatsapp or Snapchat/Discord calling. Someone else said that Realme probably didn't register for Vo support in the US, whether that be VoWifi or VoLTE. I'll take a peek at the post they mentioned

It needs to support VoLTE, which it more than likely does not. US carriers shut down their 3G networks over a year ago. Most Asian devices do not have compatible VoLTE implementations for US carriers, leaving them without the ability to make and receive calls.
Not the case here, as I said there has been no issues prior and it connects to the TMobile 5g network just fine. Any phone calls I've made in the past have worked flawlessly so I feel fairly confident it supports VoLTE lol. It's just that it's started doing this now, I dunno if it's because I'm now on the other side of the country and TMobile here is different than TMobile back home or what, and the workaround would be VoWifi but like I said I can't find that and my research showed it's up to the carrier to offer that on the specific device
