    could also be the charging cord/wall adapter as well. you would think at least something would pop up on the screen to show its plugged in to charge even if the battery was bad. might not hold the charge but you would think it would at least show something.

    So I had this happen with my ipad and it turned out the power button on top was stuck in.  Once I popped it out, it worked just fine.

    @Hale_ryan what year/version is your iPad. If it's a gen 1, 2, or 3, the battery may be done. Which means it will not hold a charge and will be unresponsive without a cord. 

    Does it hold a charge? When plugged in does the apple appear on the boot screen and eventually let you log in?
