iPhone wil not send an RCS message after updating to iOS 18

As for "messsge features rolling out to older devices" I just updated a friend's iPhone XR to iOS 18 and that phone is sending RCS messages without a problem. The IMS status shows that RCS is capable. On my IPhone 13 Pro Max the IMS status doesn't show RCS is capable even though the RCS toggle is turned on in iMessage. What shows up in IMS matters. All iPhones capable of receiving IOS, have the same messaging capability.
No problem for me on both 14 pro and new 16 pro. I can confirm:
- Messages settings has RCS enabled
- Carrier IMS status shows all three - Voice, SMS, and RCS
Doesn't look like Tmobile is the problem since Android phones have been using RCS for some time now. I think Apple is giving you the run around if it's not working.
It has been confirmed that it is the carrier. Just because Android had it for some years doesn't mean it is Apple. Case in point there are some Android phones that have had the same issue.
Its my ims and carrier I reset my eSIM but still not working
I did the same thing and that didn't work either. In a 4th attempt after they allegedly filed a trouble ticket, I was told that it was a software update issue on their (T-Mobile) end that is causing the issue. Makes no sense but whatever.
