Phone was broken I do not have insurance and can't afford a brand new phone at this time
I am not looking for a free phone. I just want to be able to get one of the same of better value than I had at a reasonable price. My phone was broken and I'm still paying the monthly payment for it. I can't bring myself to get another monthly plan or expensive phone. However, of course, I need one for so many reasons right now … sick family members, job search, trying to get into a new home rental, and so forth. Any suggestions?

You may qualify for a free phone and service through a popular federal government Lifeline Assistance social program.
- Medicaid/Medi-Cal
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamps or SNAP)/CalFresh
- Supplemental Security Income
- Federal Public Housing Assistance
- Departamento de Asuntos Indígenas - Asistencia General
- Tribally-Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
- Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations
- Tribal Head Start
- Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit
- You can also qualify based on household income. If you are unemployed, you can use your Unemployment Benefit Letter as proof of eligibility.
