S22 ultra problems

S22 ultra connectivity issues are due to a Samsung update. It has nothing to do with T-Mobile. I tried everything suggested but nothing worked until I wrote to Samsung CEO. I then got an offer from them to fix the phone for free but their tech people told me my phone was old and I needed an s24. I told them that I didn't consider a phone that at that point I hadn't even had for 2 yrs and was still paying on was old and why would I even buy another Samsung product. They then told me since my phone was no longer under warranty my choices were to pay $800 for a repair or buy a new phone. I said I have no problem paying for a repair if I broke the phone but I didn't they did with their update so I'm not paying for any repairs also that was the most expensive phone I had ever purchased and it didn't last 2 years and the phone that I was speaking with them on was a7yr old pixel 2 because their phone was useless. So when I wrote to the CEO a couple of days later I received a call back offering a free repair but while it was being repaired I went out and bought a pixel 8 pro which I like much better cost me less money. Now I have a new s22 that is sitting in a drawer. I appreciated the free repair but these phones should have been recalled as they are aware that they caused the problem luckily I was in a position to buy a new phone. I'm sure other people were forced to get another phone from Samsung as the only thing they could afford if they needed a phone at all. Who else would take a trade in on a phone that can't make or receive a call? It's just sad and despicable that they would put people in that position.

Unfortunately, the issues with the s22 series of modems were well known on independent cellphone forums.  Firmware only goes so far but although I don't know 100% for sure.  My thoughts are that it is potentially a hardware issue with the modem.  There were some similar issues with the s20 series and s21 series and band 66, among other connectivity issues.

I have a couple of friends in Spain that had so many connectivity issues with their s22 Ultas.  When I talked them into upgrading to s23 Ultra's (I have had mine 11 days before launch), they never had any connectivity issues with them.  We are all still using our s23 Uktra's and I have a few friends on T-Mobile with s24 Ultras with non-issues.

Use that device as a trade-in to upgrade to something better in the future.  I wouldn't bother with the s25 series but hopefully we get a bit of innovation with the s26 series.
