5g home internet - phone not autoconnecting..
Hi all, I just got 5g home internet yesterday. I notice that when leaving home and coming back, my phone does not auto connect to the network. Yes, my phone is configured to auto connect to it, and on my previous internet (AT&T) it auto connected fine when I returned home.
To connect my phone to the internet when I get home, I have to go to my phone wifi, then click on the network (the password is already saved). It then connects.
Are there any tips or things to check out so that my phone (its a Pixel 3a with Android) will automatically re-connect to this 5g gateway?
The output of the T-Mobile 5g Home Internet can only be set to frequency band 2.5ghz or 5ghz. It cannot output both at the same time like a router does. I have a couple of older items that can only use band 2.5ghz like my robotic vacuum, so I have to use the 2.5ghz band for everything. It's like a Naval convoy that is only as fast as the slowest ship. Also I cannot auto connect with my phone when I return home. So a work around is I use an extender to auto connect, but it seems slower than if I manually connect to the Home Internet. I am curious if the new Verizon Home Internet can auto connect.
