Battery shows 'recharging' at 78% but stays there
Hi! I noticed overnight (2AM) that my network connections had failed; I'd see the wifi icon on my phone with a little "!" next to the wifi logo instead of the usual '6'. I went to reboot the router...
I looked back at about 6:45AM as I saw the “!” on the phone again, and it’s still steadily flashing “recharging” and the percentage was still 78%.
I took your statement to mean you were referring to the gateway battery. When looking at my Nokia I could see the battery reported at 80% days ago and it was not charging. Today just to double check things I looked again at the LED on top of the gateway. It is now reporting at charging and is at 94% so it appears it is charging. I sort of suspect it does so at a rather slow rate. Given I don't use the battery and it really provides minimal benefit other than for start up migration it is not a major concern to me. Even with the placement operation the battery will only operate the cellular radio so not too exciting.
I have no idea yet if it will hold the charge and for how long. There are probably range values set in software and triggers for when to start charging the battery. It isn't like it can be used as a backup or anything other than setup assist. I use a UPS to protect the unit and keep it live in the event of a power outage.
