Fifth unit works…..Fast 5688W

On my fifth unit in a month. The constant rebooting is gone. Has worked a week without any issues. firmware ver SGJi10105-1.1.52 . Another plus's all gaming issues my kids were having with steam are gone as well. Speeds are excellent, no complaints.

I'm convinced the hardware is the problem, as others have experienced. You need to get one of the units that work. Either an updated firmware or hardware component update. Working in electronics for 40 years I've seen this first hand before.

  • I would guess T-Mobile support never looked at nor asked about the serial number of any of the gateways. If they would have and profiled the behavior to see if it was a possible manufacturing run with faulty components they could have culled the inventory and saved a ton of money and customer frustrations.

And Or .. they are reboxing old units and sending them out  ;(

  • I would hope not. I would guess the failing units would to to a contract company that handles refurbishing the gear but when it is an intermittent issue and not well documented then they may not do proper profiling. It can be a common problem for vendors if quality control is not alerted to repeated failures with products.
