Individual Device Data Useage
I see my Data Usage and each month since I installed my Gateway(4 months ago) my Data Usage has increased drastically? Also my Speed has severely dropped this past month to where it's 1/10th or more of what it was when I installed my Gateway? Most of the time I only have 3 devices connected and only one of them uses Data at random 24/7? One of my connected Devices is a printer that hardly never is used? So I'm trying to figure which Device is causing all the Data Usage? Nothing has changed in the 4 months I've had TMobile except the drop in speed and the big increase in usage? Also I was gone for 4 days but the usage didn't slow down? Can anybody please enlighten me on is there a way to see what device is the problem or is any of them the problem! I'm read post about people having Data Usage when their Devices were turned off for extended periods? Is maybe my speed problem due to being throttled back because of usage! This speed issue just started this past month???

Any chance someone is piggy-backing on your network? Try a simple experiment. Launch the phone app and tap the Network tab on the bottom of the screen, then tap the network name you've created. Change the name of your network, Save and the gateway will reboot. See if there is any difference, and if so, I suspect that someone else is using your WiFi.

Also, while using the T-Mobile Home Internet app, tap on the "DEVICES" link at the bottom of the screen. Do you have more than 3-4 devices attached? Look at the MAC address, do they match your devices? If there are any anomalies you may need to change your password.
¡Buena suerte!

No Phone just Home Internet. I have 3 devices connected and have eliminated each one so that my gateway shows no devices in the display! A couple weeks ago I did have a problem with my gateway losing signal like a tower was going down but only happened a couple time over the course of a few days? And the speed issue I suspect is very heavy traffic from my tower as a few hours later(after midnight) my speed was back to normal??? What puzzles me about the usage of Data is I also have DSL and up until I got the TMobile Gateway I hardly used over 5-7 GB a month with considerable more devices connected? And to go from using 10GB's a month to 30GB's over a period of 4 months bothers me! I check my devices connected on my Gateway daily and it never changes from 3 devices? Also there is no one close enough to me to be within range of the Gateway? Not even driving down the road? Thanks for the response?

Yes, heavy traffic (lots of users) will impact speeds. My busy times are 7-10 am and 4-6 pm due to traffic on the freeway near my cell tower.
The usage may be a metric that is used by T-Mobile. I am not sure. I have unlimited data so I don't look at usage data.

Gracias por los comentarios. I also have unlimited but was curious about the drop in speed. I also live in a high traffic area in town so that is probably what is happening! Also I sure more and more people are using Wireless Home Internet in my area as internet options are limited. Nuevamente, gracias.

My data usage showed terabytes being used in our first couple months with this crappy Home Internet service. Called a USA based English speaking tech in Albuquerque to see what was up with the .4mbps speeds racking up terabytes of data usage? He said the service was new to our area and I was probably getting tagged with all the data traffic since I was first? Well, at least it was an original answer not pulled from a manual in the Philippines. Standard answer on the speeds, go trade in the modem on a new one… 😞

Thanks for the response. Im confused as to why I started out 4 months ago with excellent service even though I only had two bars showing on gateway! Have tested as much as 130 mb of speed but usually stays in the 70 mb area. This just started recently and will give them about a month more then if it keep being throttled I'll return the gateway and chalk it up to a bad experience! Our cable company just sold out to another provider and they are offering a 30 day no contract satisfaction guaranteed or you can cancel with no charges? And their speed is much better than TMobile! Hope your gets better. Might try StraightTalk (Verizon Towers)home internet from WalMart! $99 and $45 a month guaranteed no price increase? A friend got it and also has TMobile in second location but both work great for him?
