internet gateway
So I am trying the home WiFi gateway and it's been working great for the past 11 days and out of the blue it stopped. The gateway dashboard says signal strength is 4 which is very good. All my devices seem to be connected at least that what the gateway says but unable to access anything on the internet. Have rebooted, reset and set it up again spoken with T-Mobile agent who also did some troubleshooting but doesn't know what the cause is and recommended I return the device . Anyone on the platform experiencing the same issue?

Coy, it is most likely your gateway OR the tower you're connected to is down for one reason or another. I think taking a replacement gateway is the correct first step in trying to resolve this problem.
BTW, your devices are showing that they're connected because the WiFi part of the gateway is apparently working just fine. The antenna that connects to the T-Mobile tower seems to be where the problem is with your gateway, so the rep is correct in shipping you a new one.
Keep in mind that T-Mobile is not giving you the router free of charge because it's an expensive piece of equipment. The only way to succeed with the business model of giving the interface hardware away for free is for it to be highly economical. In other words, I'm not surprised that the gateway went belly-up.

Thanks bocaboy for the insight. The tech basically told me there is nothing he could do but too return it and that my area might not be fully covered with T-Mobile. And that since I've only had the gateway for only 11 days he didn't think the issue is with the gateway. You explained it better for me to understand what the issue might. And you are right for some reason the internet started working again so you reason might actually be the one.

Glad to hear you're back up and running. For what it's worth, T-Mobile is constantly doing maintenance and upgrades to their towers, and that often takes them off-line. So far, I've only had one or two very brief interruptions, but I still prefer it to Xfinity, and the price and no data caps is also a definite plus for T-Mobile.
