Slow upload speed and T Mobile home Internet
How do I improve the upload speed of my T Mobile home Internet? The download speed is around 70 the upload is just under one, which is horrible

I have only used a T-Mobile’s Wireless Gateway for three days.
With two Bars and wired to PC, I get 301 down and 17 up using Speedtest.
What is the correlation of Bares to Up and Down speeds?
Roku down speed at about 25 feet away for Gateway is 35 down.
What issues should I look for in the future?

I had to figure out what direction was the closest tower to improve mine. Cellmapper was helpful and was able to find the window for that direction and it made a massive difference.

I recently got TMobile home internet and have found that line of sight with the tower is critical to performance. I experimented to find the best location and was getting about 200/20. I could see the tower through some trees on one of our hedge rows. Went and cut down the 2 trees and it jumped to 1000/100.

Please stop using this company. I have been with t mobil for over 20 years---I called a few weeks ago and paid off my phones---when I ask to get my sim released--3 different people kept coming up with different numbers--they finally settled on an additional 250 for the phones. When I looked it up on line it seems it standard procedure. Please stay away from this horrible company.

i get 244.08 mb download, and 6.95 mb upload. Ping is 176 ms. My gateway is on a single floor home near west end window. i get 3 bars, sometimes 4 bars. I live less than a mile away from a T-Mobile tower. One way to get better speeds is to have your gateway connected to a WiFi router and have your devices connected to the wifi router rather than the gateway.. that will reduce SIGNIFICANTLY the heating issue the gateway has. I have a Netgear WiFi 6 Mesh system and get perfect reception throughout my 1700 sq ft home. No devices should connect directly via wifi to the TMobile Gateway.

Weird
you are probably using your phone for the test.. try using your PC/Mac instead.. that will show you the upload speed

I have been sent 3 different modems in an attempt to fix issues. I currently use the g4se, which has an easier interface with my MIMO 4x4 external antenna, which is pointed directly at my nearest tower, with a much better signal tower on the far side of that tower. I regularly clock 200+ mbps download, but rarely get above 2 mbps upload. Waveform, the company I bought the antenna from, has been far more thorough about attempting to resolve the connectivity issue than most everyone I've talked to at T-M (the tech guy Greg being the exception, thanks Greg). The last time I spoke with Greg, they had put in a ticket to get the tower slightly adjusted to provide more direct coverage, but I'm assuming the tower people said "No" as I've not heard back about that. It is worth noting that I do live in the "country" and there are plenty of trees around. My next attempt will be moving a pre-existing satellite dish tower to a better location in the yard and crossing my fingers.

I've been down that road already. They didn't want to send me a new modem though. At this point it's been right at 2 months maybe a little over My upload speed is like .5 MB UPLOAD download been anywhere from 60 to 250 during this whole time frame. Never had a speed over 60 before until they readjusted everything supposedly and then now I'm reading 250 at most so far but yet I have zero I say zero upload speed cuz it's less than 1 MB for the past 2 months. They told me there is two towers nearby that have work orders on them for over a month and needing a part yet nothing happening. Past few times I've talked to him they're like yeah we can't do anything about it right now there's a work order already in so and we don't know when it's going to be should be 7 days or so before you're good to go that's been almost 3 weeks since I've talked to them I've kind of give up on it probably just like they wanted. FCC's already been talked to I left him know the issues and even sent them months and years worth of information showing where it did work and then it hasn't been working. I think I got better results with my MiFi than this Wi-Fi home internet. Yet they won't send me a new one which I don't blame them cuz I wouldn't want to pay for it. Over the past 9 months they took $20 off my bill and I'm not had any upload speed in a month. I haven't kept up there into the bargain so there you go. I hope your stuff gets fixed I know I don't have a freaking prayer.
