T-Mobile home internet unstable with online meetings
I've been a home internet customer for about 4 months. I'm in a rural area with no other real options. The service works well with streaming video. But I have major issues with Zoom, Teams, Skype, Facetime and other realtime meeting tools. The audio/video cut out every few minutes. I've noticed, while doing speed testing, that my data speed periodically hits zero every few minutes then returns to normal speed. It isn't noticable with video streaming, I assume because there is a buffer for a few seconds. This issue makes working from home difficult since I must attend online meetings. My current solution is to use my Verizon cell phone hotspot during each meeting. T-Mobile support keeps telling me the "tower is being upgraded". For 4 months!? Any suggestions for settings changes would be appreciated. FYI - I have the white box router not the newer grey "trash can".

I have the G4SE. Did you go to the store or call them? Should I ask for the G4AR? I am not using the built in WiFi at all. I want to turn it off, but I don't see anyway on how. I just need the wired connection into the rest of my network. Gracias.

I got the g4ar through calling the TMobile Home Internet support. US based techs and some offshore are aware of it, and it is specific to the g4se. You can go to a store, or have them exchange through UPS. Safer to go through stores (locals here are aware). Not sure what model you'll get. I had to exchange 2x, as first one couldn't connect to anything but wifi app.

I just recently started T-Mobile home internet for Zoom calls and I'm getting error message about low resources. I tried Googling this and I got a plethora of irrelevant reasons. I had home internet with T-Mobile previously and my problem is very poor tech support and I canceled because of this reason. Apparently T-Mobile has not perfected this system for the Zoom calls although streaming videos is not an issue. So if this problem persists I will have to go to the other sources like Comcast which would probably be more expensive due to high prices of modems or rental fees that support DOCSIS 3.1

There's an issue with the G4SE (not G4AR) gateway and its last patch on October 2
If you have a G4SE (back of the gateway), get T-Mobile to replace it. I received my 2nd replacement last night (both G4AR). The first one was effectively DOA, LTE CQI was 0. Signal showed as 'very good', however, and no 5G at all (basically no connection)
2nd one appears to work. Will be testing with VPN / Zoom today.
BTW, when you do get a replacement gateway, it defaults to 2.5GHz/5GHz Wifi. I have found that especially with G4AR, speed is slower with the default. 5GHz doubles the performance.
Eg. ~170Mbps with default, ~600Mbps with 5GHz only.
Thanks for posting this. I have the 4se and have been having the same issues. Bet to go into a store to trade? They have them in stock?

I have the G4AR. I will be checking it out again this afternoon since last time I got this error message, low resource from zoom it seemed to be okay after restart of my computer

If you can, store is quicker. Make sure you have your original box for in store exchange. Ups trade gives just the device, not so sure about the store
