t-mobile model KVD21 HOME INTERNET WILL NOT LET ME LOGIN ON WPA3

TMOBILE internet model kvd21 will not let my phone login in using WPA3, so security on my samsung A51 forces me to manually login every time I return home, WILLNOT  auto reconnect.  WPA version on my model is "WPA2/WPA3(recommended)".  I have checked all other devices in the house and they all are also WPA2.  Suggestions/solutions on how to fix this would be appreciated!

  • @9mm, I wouldn't get hung up about having some devices use WPA2 and others be able to use WPA3. It depends on the device, it's age, and how the WiFi adapter logs onto WiFi. Try this solution and see if it doesn't work for you.

Create a new network with the T-Mobile Home Internet phone app. Tap the Network tab on the bottom, then the "+" button on the lower right. Create a new 2.4 GHz WiFi network with a unique name (SSID), just for your device(s) that are having trouble logging on to WiFi. Make sure the WPA type is WPA/WPA2. This is different from your main network which, by default, is WPA2/WPA3. See if that doesn't allow your Samsung to connect.

I'll be this’ll help. Good luck!

For additional clarity, every time I manually login on on my Samsung  A51 it connects with WPA2,  Has anyone logged on automatically or manually to a model KVD21 and connected with WPA3?  I have tried everything and it always connects me with WPA2!

    Sometimes experimentation is the solution.

First, does your Samsung have an auto-join or auto-connect switch that can be turned on for your network?

And, have you tried setting your network to WPA2 only, and see what happens?

I tried changing it to WPA/WPA2,   and it worked!!!!!!!!  Thank you!!!!!

  • Glad it worked. Some devices just have a problem with the new security settings (WPA2/WPA3) so the only solution is to step it back to WPA/WPA2.

    Enjoy your new gateway!
