S24 ON US with $800 off promo

I have an S9 with no cracks, scratches and fully operational, on a plan that is no longer offered by T-mobile (Simple Choice Family). If I upgrade to GO5G Plus and trade in my S9 does that qualify me to get the S24 ON US with $800 off promo? 

Has anyone taken this deal and then find out the phone costs more than they were thinking?
