5g gateway

I recently signed up for T-Mobile internet, and I am VERY disappointed that I could not even forward NATtraffic to my home security system. I saw that this was discussed 7 months ago in a previous thread, and hope the developers will notice this. The speed is great, and the same as was advertised in the chat. I would like this issue to be resolved so that I don't need to continue with Optimum (Morris Broadband).65KViews13likes51ComentariosMIMO antenna for T-Mobile 5G home internet gateway?
Hi all - New T-Mobile home internet user, here. I set up my 5G internet gateway (silver cylinder) this weekend and it works just fine. I have Frontier DSL and Charter Spectrum now and T-Mobile is currently way outperforming Frontier DSL and outperforming Charter Spectrum almost always. I found this article about installing a MIMO antenna using the internal gateway ports. https://www.waveform.com/a/b/guides/hotspots/t-mobile-5g-gateway Has anyone tried it? I would be interested in experiences and results. ¡Gracias de antemano!49KViews2likes32ComentariosT-Mobile Home Internet Gateway "No USIM" error
I recently just purchased the T-Mobile Home internet service but upon turning on the device at home, instead of automatically going to a software update or displaying the connection signal strength, it gave me an error saying "No USIM". At first I thought there was no sim card in the device. After checking the sim card holder, there was in fact a sim card installed. After many calls to T-Mobile's customer service team, no troubleshooting step they gave me worked. I have tried turning it on and off, factory reset, uninstalling and reinstalling the sim card, and still the same "No USIM" error occurs. After many unsuccessful attempts, I eventually just called and ordered a new sim card. New sim card comes in, not surprisingly doesn't work. At this point of writing, I am considering taking the device back to the original store I received it from and getting a replacement router. Any idea how to fix my problem before I take the device back to the store? My device is the Cylinder 5GNokia Router btw.Solved12KViews2likes8Comentarios5G 5G21-12W-A Gateway "Trashcan" Bridge Mode
I have purchased the 5G home internet and off the bat have issues with the "barebones" firmware on the Nokia 5G21-12W-AGateway. No ability to dictate port forwarding, enable UPNP, but more specifically turn it into a "dumb modem". My home network needs the ability to put my Ubiquiti Edge Router in the DMZ(modem in bridge mode) so my OpenVPN server and Plex server can have public access. For the first couple weeks I kept my Ubiquity Router connected to fu*king ATT DSL and only put a few devices on the T-MOB GW. It was pretty unpredictable and unstable. The last 3 days its been stable with 300Mbps down, and 20+Mbps up and below 50ms ping times. So on a Sunday with everyone home, I did it. Plugged it in and changed the DNS servers on my Ubiquity DHCP. It couldn't handle the throughput. From my desktop I was running continuouspings to my pubic web server and google.com. Separately they would become unreachableor timeout, not in succession but at different times. I've got 2 separate tickets open with them now for these issues. What I am really posting for here is I would liketo know if anyone else has similar issues, with 40+ devices on their LAN in a mildly similar configuration?12KViews4likes8ComentariosFrequent Disconnection on 5G Home Internet
Just putting out my observations on disconnects on my 5G Home Internet -- hoping that T-Mobile's engineering will take notice because I'm not sure if my support calls during the past several months have trickled up. I will place another support call again to communicate these observations. My gateway is on the latest 1609 firmware. During the last several months, I noticed that at least once a week, usually on a weekend, my Internet connection will drop out, sometimes two or three times on a given day. It was unpredictable. It could occur several times during a given week; and, like most, working remotely, it wreaked havoc on my work day. Often noticed service disruption when streaming video starts buffering or my vpn drops out. Sometimes, I'm able to catch a severe degradation of speed on a speed test app before it becomes unusable. I usually see 300/50 Mbps, so 1 to 2 Mbps down was definitely not a reasonable speed -- especially withthegateway still showing four bars. In every case, power cycling the gateway fixed the issue. But obviously this is an unacceptable solution. I opened a support ticket back in October 2021. Over the next couple of months, we replaced the unit+sim. We've powered off/on with removal of power for a period of time. We've replugged directly into the wall as opposed to a surge protector (which was an inane suggestion). Two engineering tickets were opened with no one getting back to me. All to no avail. The support experience was frustrating, especially when it was clear no one had a clue to what was going on and were trying to give me things to do to make me feel like something productive was being tried. I had to fly out for two weeks during the Christmas holidays, so held off of switching service providers until the new year. (I was a FIOS customer and was looking to go back -- I had no issues there, but I thought I'd try T-Mobile after a storm ripped out my optical switch from the side of my house.) During my time away in December 2021,I asked my tenant to check speeds and report any service outages. To my surprise, during the two weeks we were awayin December, there were no outages. When I returned from holidays, service was still consistently good -- actually even better, up to 320/60 Mbps -- and I wondered if there was something repaired or improved on T-Mobile's network. Until I used a vpn (RealSolid) to watch some, er, region specific video content. Noticed that an hour or two into the viewing of the video stream over vpn, service would degrade until it dropped out. A reboot of the gateway would bring service back. Service was good during the week until I used the vpn again the following weekend. So this hadgotten me to suspect that while1609 may have repaired some vpn client issue, it is still not handling vpn traffic properly. During the previous months, I actually rarely used this aforementioned vpn, so I'm hypothesizing that it may have been my work VPN (GlobalProtect) with a sustained connection over time. My work vpn has been fine since starting back at work, but i have purposely shut down my work computer every evening. I'm going to keep it running as I did prior to Christmas to see if I can reproduce the issue. If it recurs, I suspect the sustained use of some vpn clients may be affecting service. In any case, it appears that engineering will need to look closely at their code and fix the handling of vpn traffic.8.2KViews1like29ComentariosMLB The Show does not work on my T-mobile 5g internet box.
MLB The Show does not work on my T-mobile 5g internet box. It will say "Challenge Failed" when trying to play an online match. The game works perfectly fine when i bring my xbox to my parents house. But when i bring it back to my wifi, it doesn't work. I test the NAT type until it's open, I reset the router, etc. I've done everything I can think of and there no solution. Does anyone have this same problem? This is the only game that won't work either. This and NBA 2k brought me some issues. But i can play COD or shooters on my wifi… but cross play sports games seem to bring the issue5.9KViews3likes21ComentariosNAT/forwarding issues while gaming/streaming
Hey guys, I'm new here... I just got my gateway in yesterday... I must say, I'm highly disappointed and I only wish I researched this further before I ordered it...I've already donemultiple searches on this topic, so I'm not gonna ask the question I've been wanting to ask which was: "Why isn't my connection open NAT?", or "Why can't I port forward?". I've pretty much answered all of those questions myself by simply searching. I have taken it upon myself to call T-mobile's tech support anyways in the event that somehow a miracle is sent my way.... Fortunately for me, a very kind gentleman by the name of Alex, employee number 786457, assured me that they will be fixing the problem within a 48 hour period. I was told there will be some Beta software sent to my unit "possibly". And yes, that was the word used... Not sure how far I can believe that, seeing as how a lot of you are having issues. But anyway, this is my journey. I will post some updates here n there to let y'all know the outcome. Worst case scenario this causes me to vacate the community & the service entirely. Because this is probably one of the largest handicaps any network can have, it's almost like having parental control without it actually being implemented. Stay tuned folks, I'll let you know what happens. Hopefully this "beta" program isn't bullcucky.5.9KViews2likes33ComentariosArcadyan KVD21 5G which connectors for 5G external antenna
Recently, I moved from Comcast Xfinity Internet to T-Mobile. Like many of you I have seen videos and read articles on how to attach an external antenna. I have a 2X2 Proxicast MIMO antenna, however, there is some question as to which connection to use on the Arcadyan Gateway. Currently, I am using M and M1 connections. I mounted the antenna in the rafters (2-story house) aiming toward the T-Mobile cell tower. My cell metrics did not change much. 5G -RSRP -92 with antenna, -93 without; RSRQ -6, -7 without; SINR 16, 8 without What are you using and do you have a different experience? ¡Gracias!5.8KViews0likes29ComentariosAirPrint with T-Mobile home internet Nokia 5G21 gateway
So I just set up the Nokia gateway and, for the most part, it works great for my needs. I love that it is $25 less per month than I was paying Spectrum (the only other real option for me in my area) for faster speeds. The only issue I've run into is that, while I can connect my Brother MFC-L2710DW printer to the gateway, I am unable to get any of my Apple devices to "see" it as an AirPrint option. I currently have it connected to my old Netgear access point to be able to use it which works but I would like to not have to switch networks in order to print from my iPhone or iPad. The UI for the gateway is super dumbed-down and I cannot find any editable security settings that could be causing the issue. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue and discovered a workaround?Solved3.5KViews1like16Comentarios
