6 TopicsHow to change the Wifi and LAN IP subnet
I just got a Tmobile 5G Home hotspot and set it up. It's working but it's built in DHCP server is handing out a subnet of 192.168.12.x /24 on both the Wifi and LAN ports. I would like to change this, or at least change the Wifi. The built in wifi will be useless to me unless I can change this IP. I have a home internet distribution system, Cisco access points on all the floors that blow away the built in wifi this thing has. And I don't trust the security in this device to keep my networks secure. If anyone knows how to change the IP please let me know. Thanks, David2.2KViews0likes5ComentariosLAN and WIFI Bridged or not?
I installed the TMobile 5G home internet and it works pretty good. I'm in rural PA and only get poor reception for TMobile. Does anyone know if the LAN interface is bridged to the WIFI interface? It seems that my Wifi devices cannot see the devices on the LAN interface. There are literally no settings in the device that I can control. As soon as I got this thing I wanted to put it on a designated subnet but that seems impossible. Seems that 192.168.12.x is hardcoded. I got around the subnet issue but now I need to bridge the lan and wifi interfaces. It seems almost as if the wifi interfaces are firewalled against the the lan interfaces. I am very skilled in setting up routers… BUT… I have a Linksys router that is configured to use a "Static IP" in the internet settings, and setting it to internet ipv4 address of 192.168.12.2 with the default gateway 192.168.12.1, and DNS of 192.168.12.1,7.7.7.7,and 8.8.8.8. I can surf, and the Linksys sees that there is a internet connection, but the Linksys also has a Yellow connection issue light on the router. What is everyones setup for using a external router so I can compare… I have also disabled all Wifi on the TMobile router because it is garbage. I can surf without an issue, but once and a while I have some wacky internet.189Visto0likes2Comentarios
