5 TopicsTablets do not want to connect to T-Mobile home internet
Hello, Just wanted to see if people are getting the same issue as me. Cut the cable cord recently and switched to t-mobile high speed internet. For the most part, so far been happy. The "devices' feature on the app stopped working but that's not a big concern. What I'm really wondering is why are my tablets not connecting to this wifi? Does it have to do with the encryption type being newer than my tablets (tablets are a little aged)? Or does it have to do with Wifi 5 or Wifi 6? I dont mind going out and getting a new tablet, but if that is the case, what am I supposed to look for with the wifi connection in the new tablet? We've tested other connections on the older tablets I currently own at it works fine. Any recommendations?936Visto0likes5Comentarios2FA methods
I noticed that when I will FINALLY be able to set up 2FA, I am restricted to using low security methods save for app based, and then I can only use Google Authenticator. What I am asking is if this could be changed so that we can use other apps like Authy, Proton Pass, and better yet, hardware based methods like YubiKey? If ye want to BE the best, then do the things that MAKE ye the best.173Visto0likes0ComentariosHow secure is T-mobile's service? Is it encrypted?
How secure is T-mobile's service? Is packet sniffing or a man in the middle attack possible on the T-mobile network? I know that most ISPs have a good idea of what a user does on their network. You can typically just use a VPN to enable more anonymity online. But from the signal between a device and the cell tower i'm guessing there can be multiple security issues. Lets say I login to my T-mobile account or bank account. And someone has set up a repeater or fake signal that my phone connects to thinking its the T-mobile service. Would that person be able to see the data being transferred over the network. Or is the signal my phone sends out encrypted not allowing for this to happen. Devices like the 4G LTE Cellspot connects to a customers own router and allows them to broadcast a T-mobile signal using their home internet. Are people that own this device able to see data and traffic from my phone? They could possible configure their router maliciously to look at all traffic coming from a 4G LTE Cellspot device with unsuspecting T-mobile customer connecting to it thinking its connected directly to a cell tower. Another way this device can be abused is the person can limit their bandwidth to the device to unusable speeds but all phones around it will still connect to it because its the strongest T-mobile signal. This would degrade the service and make the T-mobile service around that device practically unusable. I swear I'm not paranoid. Just a student studying security and these questions came to mind. I love using the 2g network before any other network. especially above 3g . my second is 4g LTE with Verizon . but since they are pansy's and only care about the 4g 5g trend I switched to T- Mf Mobile! I hope to god they keep the 2g network alive for us cellular agents and global techys!176Visto2likes3Comentarios“This network is blocking encrypted DNS traffic”
This morning I noticed thatwhen my iPad and iPhone connect to the WiFi signal from my 5G High Speed Gateway (the silver trash can) they warn me that "This network is blocking encrypted DNS traffic." It goes on to state that internet traffic on the network may be monitored and recorded by other devices on the same network. I have an Eero router connected to the gateway by ethernet and configured in bridge mode to serve as an access point. When I connect to that WiFi signal I do not get the same warning message. I have already: (1) rebooted the gateway several times (2) done a factory reset Another odd symptom - which may or may not be related - is that it continues to show a warning on the LCD for"modem storage overload." I noticed this a few days ago, but it has not been resolved by the reboots or the factory reset. There are no text messages in the device.8.3KViews0likes3Comentarios
