Re: T-mobile Wifi Gateway Home Internet
I started out with 100 Mbps range speeds, everyday it would have to be reset, 3 weeks later 5g (N71) stopped being received. Stuck with 30 Mbps as low as 8 Mbps in the evenings. They already replaced the Modem/Router (Nokia) no help. Customer service started out nice but no longer hear back from them, still no 5g. I tried for 5 weeks to make this work but made the decision, I think today, after one more call to TMobile I am going back to Spectrum for a year with 100Mbps service for the same price. (1year price) I will retry TMobile next year, I have nothing against TMobile butI do want a refund, I was told to expect a min of 25 Mbps and I cant evenget that. My Spectrum service was rock solid, always got above the 100 Mbps but the company su*** for raising our rates about 70% over 4 years. However now that I canceled them they will welcome me back at the lower price for a year, Hopefully by the time the year ends TMobile is working correctly. Im just typing this because for 5 weeks I worked on this day and night, alone with calls to TMobile and nothing worked, frustrated I even filed a compliant with the FCC because I do not have useable internet and I am paying for it. There seems to be some corruption starting in their service department. Im not sure but I used to get a call back to see if the service was working, I no longer do and found out my service tickets are being "closed" without anyone contacting me to see if they corrected the issue. Two support tickets #51147292 and 51452604 I found out the 51452604 was closed out only to be reopened once I called again, and once again, almost one week later I never heard back, so will call them today. 2-11-217Visto3likes0ComentariosRe: Home Internet slow speed anyway to force b12?

They toosent me a second unit just yesterday, hooked it up, all excited and …same issue, its like the cell tower, one mile from my house just gave up sending the N71 5g signal. Miserable is correct, The Nokia tower has way too many bugs and issues. can't entirely blame TMobile, after all Nokia made the darn thing, just horrible. Im having in there to see if Tmobile finds a solution, if not I will be forced back to Spectrum next month.1Ver3likes0ComentariosRe: NOK 5G21 GATEWAY GRY KIT LAN Connection

Connect a WIN10 laptop to the same ethernet cable and it will work with both dhcp and static assignments? What am I not seeing here? Reblog wrote: Umm, yeah, that's how routerswork. Maybe I'm missing something in what you are trying to do. i.e. you can turn off all the WiFi radios in the Nokia gateway, connect it to the WAN port and use your router to distribute to your LAN. You'll end up with multiple NAT's but it works. Ummmm …I would disagree with using the WAN port. Go into the router you want to connect GUI, turn off all DHCP settings. Plug the Nokia Gateway into one of the LAN ports. This will make the router that you want to use an access point and the Nokia will be the only one showing a NAT. IF the person asking does some research on the internet, google itself shows this method. To clarify = First, go into the GUI of the router that you want to use. Turn off all DHCP settings. Turn off all SSID and Broadcast settings in the Nokia tower for EVERY 2.5 and 5 ghz SSID, you must save each setting before going to the next SSID. Make sure you have the router you want to use programmed with the SSIDs and passwords that you want. Plug Nokia Router into the LAN port of the router that you want to use. Do NOT ever use the WAN port. NEVER. Your all done. You may need to reboot the devices. The Router that you want to use is now an access point for the Nokia Tower. The Nokia Tower Wifi is turned off and will see all the devices from the router you wanted to use as Ethernet connections.8Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: High-Speed Internet Gateway does not work with some apps on T-mobile Home Wifi Internet
First thanks in your sincere efforts to help the original post? As that was who I was trying to help. I can and do have all my wifi radios runs turnedoff in the Nokia Gray Tower. I dont know what photos you are showing me, maybe you have an older firmware? The first photo you have posted is what my page looks like and programed exactly as written on page 27 of the manual that I posted a link too. I have the SSIDs and "Broadcast" turned off "Disabled" on all three radios. 2.5, low 5 and high 5. I have a Motorola AC 2600n router connected via Ethernet to the Nokia Router/Modemand is where all my wireless devices connect through. There are no SSIDs showing up as an option for the Nokia Tower in my home. I can turn them on and off at will, in fact I used the quite capable built in Nokia router for a good week or two on the 2.5, low5 and high 5 then turned them off and use the Motorola Router exclusively now. Its all clear in the manual as well, page 27, disable SSID and Broadcast. I have no issues what so ever with any of my 28 wifi devices connecting, though no more then 18 are active at any one time as seen by the network. No issues with 5 Roku players, cellphones, 2 laptops, 2 desktops, wifi cameras, doorbell camera, network printers, ect, ect ,ect … My problem is with a defective Nokia Modem/Router that will not connect to asecondary cell connection. It did for a couple weeks, however was very unreliable for more the 24 hours, my speeds when the secondary connection drops goes from 100 Mbps to 20, sometimes much worse, sometimes up to 40. Very unstable and very frustrating as I know the 5g modem must be defective as it no longer works at all. Lets face it, this modem/router was pushed out to the market place by Nokia way too soon. TMobile states firmware updates will be automatically pushed when available. The 2.5 and 5G wifi radios have nothing to do with updates. Only the cell signals are used for updates.4Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: Restart router daily?
KEA wrote: Howdy folks, having this very same problem with the new cylindrical 5g modem: Getting 400+ mbps no problem for a few weeks. Started noticing pixelation on streaming video about 10 days ago, speedtestedto find 1-2 mbps speeds on any device I tested (wired and wireless). Turning off and on has no impact. Factory reset got me back to 400+ mbps. Since then, the issue has increased in frequency to daily, and today, for the first time, I had to factory reset 3 times already. After factory reset everything goes back to normal/very high speed service. Have contacted support, however, Team didn't seem to have a real fix and will be getting back in touch with me tomorrow to follow up. Would love to hear any potential solutions you've discovered, and will also share any outcome of mine. Edit: we also have 2 5g cell phones from TMO as well, and are able to get 400+ mbps via hotspot when we need to fall back during these resets - not experiencing any issues at all there, which leads me to the modem. Many thanks for the thread! I have this same issue but far worse. I was so impressed when we first got the Nokia Tower 4 weeks ago, plugged it in, connected to wifi, 100+ Mbps right out of the box, 24 hours later connections dropped the secondary N71 5g connection, this went on for days, restart the router/modem and back to 100+ speeds, less then 24 hours later, back to 20. Tech support had me move router, worked great for another 36 hours, same thing, drops secondary connection which in my area is the 5g N71 Band and leave only the LTE with 20 Mbps and SLOWER. I have good signal. 3 bars on primary 4 on secondary, cell tower 1 mile from my home. Last week, system REALLY slowed down"CPU Overheat" was appearing on the Nokia LED display, shut off unit to cool down, plugged it in, no secondary cell signal, days of trying, unit can not pick up the N71 5g signal and when it did work, it was a full 4 bars strong. More calls to tech support and they finally sent me a new unit. New unit, Same thing, no secondary signal which tells me itsthe cell tower, exactly one milefrom my home andI am stuck with a snails pace LTE signal at anywhere from 12 to 35 Mbps. Sadly its more like 12 or worse in theevening. Spoke to TMobile again, support guy nameJulio was fantastic, took down notes on everything that has been happening and escalating my service ticket. Im giving it another week or two or its back to Spectrum, since I will then be treated as a new customer after not having service for the last 30 days Ill get the same rate Im paying TMobile for 1 year, then reviseTMobile back at that time, Im sure all these issues will be cleared up by then. I saw the speeds that its capable of but at this time, its not stable enough to reliably give those speeds. Fantastic that you had 400.2Visto1like0ComentariosRe: High-Speed Internet Gateway does not work with some apps on T-mobile Home Wifi Internet
I think for now Tmobile is after the average homeowner who wants internet access and isnt one to change settings. More or less an out of the box experience as this is what most homeowners are. The Nokia Unit is not for anyone who wishes to change settings of any kind except the SSIDs. Im good with that except my Nokia Unit 5g receiver I think it burned out, no longer can get the 5g and I used to have 4 bars. Right before that an "CPU Overheat" message was displaying on the LED screen of the unit. As far as controlling the 2.4 and two 5 ghz bands that you can easily do, You CAN turn off anything you want as far as that goes. Here is the manual. Metsfan ( I was from NY) I hate to say this but time will prove me right to you. You might as well give up now IF you have an option for another internet provider, then if you wish go back to TMobile next year. Im one of the lucky ones I guess, I went back to good old reliable Spectrum @$49 for 100 Mbps service. I will try out TMobile in Jan of 2022 again, hopefully they have everything fixed nationwide by then. Some areas are good but not are not just yet. Full disclosure, I HATE Spectrum but $49 a month for 1 year maybe TMobile will have their act together in a year or sooner. TMobile has a tech support phone number posted all over your GUI, App and in the box, they do not monitor this forum to give answers, you need to call.5Visto1like0ComentariosRe: Home Internet slow speed anyway to force b12?
^^^ Your issues are not going to go away anytime soon, so prepare and figure it will take about a year. Some are lucky and dont have issues, but it will take TMobile a year or more to get every tower properly working. Been there, done that, Nokia tower, first few weeks around 100Mbps speeds but had to be reset every day, then 5 g died at my local tower, TMobile replaced my unit, still didnt work with 5 g, speeds were 8 to 30 mbps without 5g. Throttled down every evening, B12 band would switch to B2 and REALLY slow down. Went back to Spectrum, they met TMobile price of $49 but for one year only. Have a solid 117 Mbps service again and will try Tmobile again in Jan 2022 or sooner if they contacted me. I hate spectrum but Tmobile left me no choice. You are kidding yourself if you think your issue is going to get fixed anytime soon. I worked on my issues forclose to 6 weeks, I know the Nokia tower inside and out. Also for those who do not know, its not really all that hard to use another router with the Nokia Tower, just use the router that you want to use as an access point (another subject) BTW, these are high quality Nokia Towers, the Wifi radio in them are as powerful as the most expensive routers on the market, the issue is, this is brand new technology and TMobile is still figuring out how to make it work with their brand new 5g network that is still being built, they will, sooner or later. As it does work for some right now. Ps, No, you cant not "force B12" or any other band.2Visto1like0Comentarios
