Re: Home Internet slow speed anyway to force b12?
^^^ Your issues are not going to go away anytime soon, so prepare and figure it will take about a year. Some are lucky and dont have issues, but it will take TMobile a year or more to get every tower properly working. Been there, done that, Nokia tower, first few weeks around 100Mbps speeds but had to be reset every day, then 5 g died at my local tower, TMobile replaced my unit, still didnt work with 5 g, speeds were 8 to 30 mbps without 5g. Throttled down every evening, B12 band would switch to B2 and REALLY slow down. Went back to Spectrum, they met TMobile price of $49 but for one year only. Have a solid 117 Mbps service again and will try Tmobile again in Jan 2022 or sooner if they contacted me. I hate spectrum but Tmobile left me no choice. You are kidding yourself if you think your issue is going to get fixed anytime soon. I worked on my issues forclose to 6 weeks, I know the Nokia tower inside and out. Also for those who do not know, its not really all that hard to use another router with the Nokia Tower, just use the router that you want to use as an access point (another subject) BTW, these are high quality Nokia Towers, the Wifi radio in them are as powerful as the most expensive routers on the market, the issue is, this is brand new technology and TMobile is still figuring out how to make it work with their brand new 5g network that is still being built, they will, sooner or later. As it does work for some right now. Ps, No, you cant not "force B12" or any other band.2Visto1like0ComentariosRe: NOK 5G21 GATEWAY GRY KIT LAN Connection

I want to utilize the LAN ports for an ethernet connection to my home router but it does not seem to negotiate with my router or even my switch? I have tried both dhcp and static settings for LAN1 and I still get no link lights on the router or switch. Connect a WIN10 laptop to the same ethernet cable and it will work with both dhcp and static assignments? What am I not seeing here? Reblog wrote: Umm, yeah, that's how routerswork. Maybe I'm missing something in what you are trying to do. i.e. you can turn off all the WiFi radios in the Nokia gateway, connect it to the WAN port and use your router to distribute to your LAN. You'll end up with multiple NAT's but it works. Ummmm …I would disagree with using the WAN port. Go into the router you want to connect GUI, turn off all DHCP settings. Plug the Nokia Gateway into one of the LAN ports. This will make the router that you want to use an access point and the Nokia will be the only one showing a NAT. IF the person asking does some research on the internet, google itself shows this method. To clarify = First, go into the GUI of the router that you want to use. Turn off all DHCP settings. Turn off all SSID and Broadcast settings in the Nokia tower for EVERY 2.5 and 5 ghz SSID, you must save each setting before going to the next SSID. Make sure you have the router you want to use programmed with the SSIDs and passwords that you want. Plug Nokia Router into the LAN port of the router that you want to use. Do NOT ever use the WAN port. NEVER. Your all done. You may need to reboot the devices. The Router that you want to use is now an access point for the Nokia Tower. The Nokia Tower Wifi is turned off and will see all the devices from the router you wanted to use as Ethernet connections.8Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: Where to find new firmware
That's the latest "firmware" .0143 At least it was on Jan 2021 when I asked, I was also told or under the impression that new releases are automatically pushed to the device but doesn't hurt to keep up to date on that. Tmobile is very good and impressive with their Home Internetsupport line, you don't even have to be put on hold, you can enter your phone number for a call back when it's your turn, it works very well. It works so well that I think you are better off doing the call back vs. waiting on hold.3Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: NOK5G21 Home Internet Gateway Not Working Properly
Metsfan ( I was from NY) I hate to say this but time will prove me right to you. You might as well give up now IF you have an option for another internet provider, then if you wish go back to TMobile next year. Im one of the lucky ones I guess, I went back to good old reliable Spectrum @$49 for 100 Mbps service. I will try out TMobile in Jan of 2022 again, hopefully they have everything fixed nationwide by then. Some areas are good but not are not just yet. Full disclosure, I HATE Spectrum but $49 a month for 1 year maybe TMobile will have their act together in a year or sooner. TMobile has a tech support phone number posted all over your GUI, App and in the box, they do not monitor this forum to give answers, you need to call.5Visto1like0ComentariosRe: Restart router daily?
You can still reboot your unit with a timer. The battery backup only saves your router settings, disconnecting the power and reconnecting reboots the Nokia Tower. The Nokia Tower firmware is buggy, you could also be an unlucky one and by shutting off the power to the unit, its possible you will lose all your settings, the only way to know is try it.1Ver0likes0ComentariosRe: Home Internet lagging
Interesting, your one of the lucky ones to have at least fast down loads. You dont mention if this happens on multiple devices or just one device. I assume once you know the Gateway was working with good download speeds that you then rebooted the devices in your home? There are a lot of bugs with TMobile, some get lucky, some dont, your next choice is an easy call to TMobile Home Internet Support7Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Where to find new firmware
jviola wrote: Does anyone know where to download the latest firmware or how to find out if you have the latest firmware? What are the last 4 numbers in your firmware, Ill reply if that sounds right. maybe something with a 43 and 0 in it? If you just got the unit it would have been shipped with the new firmware OR you can always make a VERY EASY call to TMobile Home Internet tech support and they will answer you question. The number is posted all over the place and specific to Home Internet only, its on your app, its on the GUI, its in the box with the gateway, its everywhere! *L*3Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Security Cameras
I think the first question should be will your TMobile Home Internet work at all, never mind the cameras, but if it does … I think only you will be able to answer your own question. You also need to be specific about what TMobile gateway you are getting, some/mostof the others have the older units, the New Unit is a Nokia Gray Tower Gateway. Understandably there are a lot of comments in here from those with older units if you are not specific. I have 4 Ezviz C6Wn cameras that worked fine and one Honeywell Slim Door Bell Camera with the Nokia Gateway. When the TMobile Internet was working properly which was only for a few weeks, it that much. However C6wn are not DVR based cameras and honestly think you will need to hear for someone with the same set up. You have no options what so ever to change in the Tmobile Nokia router, however you could always plug your own router into the TMobile. Ultimately TMobile could not fix the CellTower issues near me and I had to go back to Spectrum Internet.10Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: NOK5G21 Home Internet Gateway Not Working Properly
JViola, I gave up, never could get the 5g N71 back and I had STRONG signal from a tower exactly 1 mile from my home. I spent literally days on this thing over a 5 or 6 week period. I went back to Spectrum for now, of course it was nice to have that option and of course, Spectrum matched TMobile price for one year so was no big deal. This time next year I will try Tmobile again, hopefully they fix all the HUGE issues with their new 5g deployment by then, if so, I will be looking forward to having their service. Right now for many the service is garbage, you have to be one of thelucky ones to have trouble free service. I still follow these forums so it would be great to hear an update from you. If Tmobile at any point during the year can tell me my service will work all the time, I will drop Spectrum right away and go back to them. You didnt mention what speed you are getting, I was getting anywhere from 80 Mbps to as high as 120 or so WHEN it worked. Other then that I was 6 Mbps to 30 depending on time of day…in rough numbers. Spectrum gives me a rock solid 90+ Mbps for the same price (for one year only) and it always works. Ill be GLAD to take TMobile back if they can make their system work.1Ver0likes0ComentariosRe: Windows laptop can't find T-Mobile Home Internet network... but all other devices can
Which TMobile device are your talking about? Is this the New Nokia Gray Tower? If so, how did you set up the Wifi network in your home, did you set your own SSID's or are you using the TMobile WiFI name? Did you select your own channels? Or do you have it on "Auto"? The reason for my questions is because of this; The Nokia Tower offers a wide selection of Wifi Channels which is fantastic. These channels are used world wide meaning not all channels are used in all countries. Its a global device. The Channels offered to us in the USA includes some channels with restrictions and not commonly used in typical routers. In this respect the Nokia router is superior, as you can truly set a channel in a crowded wifi area that no one else uses. The down side is, since these channels are not commonly used in the USA some devices are not programmed/capable of seeing them. Soif you set your own channel you may have selected channels your device can not see, change it to a commonly used channel or simply set it to "Auto" and let the device choose your channel for you. More or less, it is something with your computer and not the Nokia Tower. Try refreshing your network on the computer because no matter what, its should be seeing the 2.5 network at the least, no matter what settings on the router.1Ver0likes0Comentarios
