Re: How can I disable the MAC address filtering or add an acceptable MAC address for my HP 8600 printer?
My suggestion would be to forget MAC filtering. Your problem is pretty common among T-Mobile Internet users. The following usually fixes the problem. Add a new WiFi network for the HP. Use the T-Mobile app and tap the Network tab on the bottom, then the "+" button on the lower right. Create a new 2.4 GHz WiFi network with a unique name (SSID), just for your printer. Make sure the WPA type is WPA/WPA2. This is different from your main network which, by default, is WPA2/WPA3. Now, go to your printer and clear out all of the information you have entered for your printer's setup and then connect your printer to your new wireless connection. See if that doesn't help. ¡Buena suerte!86Visto9likes0ComentariosRe: Printer not Connecting to Wifi

Since you own an older laptop, try this trick. The first thing to check is to make sure the Hidden switch on your network is set to Off. By default, the Hidden switch is On for the primary network. Use the T-Mobile app to access the settings for your network. Tap the Network tab on the bottom, then tap on your existing network to see the settings. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see a Hidden switch. Turn it off and then Save. If that doesn't solve your problem, try adding a new WiFi network for your laptop. Use the T-Mobile app and tap the Network tab on the bottom, then the "+" button on the lower right. Create a new 2.4 GHz WiFi network with a unique name (SSID), just for your laptop. Make sure the WPA type is WPA/WPA2. This is different from your main network which, by default, is WPA2/WPA3. See if the new network you've created doesn't allow your laptop to connect.97Visto5likes0ComentariosRe: T-mobile gateway with seperate router
I was considering the same setup you have when I first got my gateway, but I decided to see just how good or bad the Arcadyan KVD21 5G gateway performed before I connected my existing router. The first trick during setup is to name the network(s) on your new gateway the same as your router. So, if your SSID was named PickleJuice on your old router, give the new network the same name. Devices on your network should connect automatically and not know the difference. You can do this very quickly using the T-Mobile phone app under the Network tab. As for DNS, I handle that at the client level, not the router. What often works for one device doesn't for another, and so I do not change DNS on the router, but that's a personal preference. As for a guest network, I used the T-Mobile app to create a new network (PickleJuiceGuest) with a different password and that is the only network you have to let your guests use. The wireless reach of myArcadyan KVD21 5G gateway is surprisingly good, and I don't see much difference between my TP-Link AX50 and the T-Mobile gateway. I still need a WiFi extender in one part of the house, but I needed that with the original network as well. There is, of course, nothing wrong or incorrect with what you're doing. It drives most of us on the forum crazy that the gateway can't be configured or worse, there is no way to connect an external antenna to boost the T-Mobile signal. I just want to eliminate as much complexity from my home network as possible, and having only one device instead of two is part of that philosophy.16Visto3likes0ComentariosRe: what printer works on Tmobile 5 g internet wireless gateway
I can't help you with the phone since I'm a Mac-guy, but any printer should be able to connect to your combined WiFi signal generated by your T-Mobile gateway. Occasionally an older printer might require you to create an additional network with only WPA/WPA2 security, but any printer manufactured over the last, say, five years, should be able to easily connect to a 2.4/5 GHz WiFi signal. If you end up with an older printer that can only see an earlier version of WiFi (WPA/WPA2), use the phone app to create a new network with that security and give it a different name from your default network. Either way, it's pretty straightforward to connect just about any printer to your T-Mobile gateway. ¡Buena suerte!41Visto3likes0ComentariosRe: Buffering/weak signals in other rooms
@henry51, I totally hear you! I'm an older, retired IT exec now, but a decade ago I would have torn the gateway apart to install an external antenna, or turn off WiFi, just for the hell of doing it! I'm actually pretty surprised and pleased with T-Mobile Internet, especially the price: I scored the $25 for life package back in Dec. '22. It was too good a deal to pass up, and I really dislike Xfinity's business model of negotiating a new price every year and data caps!7Visto3likes0ComentariosRe: no home internet service all day
"Unhappy Home Internet", the people at T-Mobile don't monitor this forum, so if you're having problems, which it certainly sounds like, you can only call Tech Support with your threat to cancel the service. Stating it on the forum will have no effect on T-Mobile trying to fix the problem. To state the obvious, something has changed in your environment. Since you've tried a few different gateways, the problem is almost surely there is a change in the tower you were connecting to. Maybe it was relocated, maybe it's down for service, but I'd be willing to bet that's the problem. T-Mobile supplies a type of Internet called Fixed Wireless Internet (FWI) which is brand new. Most providers use a wire of some sort to deliver the signal. T-Mobile and Verizon use FWI which is totally dependent on the gateway being able to identify and stay connected to a cell tower. Maybe, if it's available, Verizon FWI would be a better choice for yousince you seem to be in one of those areas where T-Mobile just can't deliver the signal. I can hear you're very frustrated, especially since your service was good for one year. Your only other option is to keep escalating your problem to a Supervisor, then to their supervisor…you get the idea. Maybe that will finally get you an answer. It shouldn't be this hard.3Visto3likes0ComentariosRe: Home Internet Gaming
You're not the only person on this forum who is suffering with this problem. Here is one suggestion you might try that has worked for some of them. Try adding a new WiFi network for the Sony.Use the T-Mobile Home Internet app and tap the Network tab on the bottom, then the "+" button on the lower right. Create a new 2.4 GHz WiFi network with a unique name (SSID), just for your game console. Make sure the WPA type is WPA/WPA2. This is different from your main network which, by default, is WPA2/WPA3. Now, go to your Sony and clear out all of the information you have entered for your console's setup and then recreate your wireless connection to the new network you just created. See if that doesn't make a difference.61Visto3likes0ComentariosRe: Laptop Does Not Recognize T-Mobile Internet
Yes, the method described here should work for your older Windows computer. Because of your laptop's age, there is a chancethat it will not be able to "see" a WPA2/WPA3 secured network. If that happens, you must use the phone app to downgrade it to WPA/WPA2. The app is downloadable from the Apple App Store or the Android Store. The Hidden switch is under the Network tab of the phone app. Launch the app, then tap the Network tab at the bottom of the screen. The Hidden slider is at the bottom of the configuration screen, so you will have to scroll down to see it. I leave mine off since hiding a network will not keep a dedicated hacker from using my WiFi. IMHO, Ethernet is always preferable to wireless, but there are only two Ethernet ports on the back of my TMHI Arcadyan KVD21 5G gateway. I use one to connect to a 5-port, 1 GB switch, whichI use to connectone or two devices via Ethernet. The other port is connected directly to anApple TV. I've alsosuccessfully used TP-Link Powerline adapters in my home to extend a wired network to my wife's computer and a TV mounted outside. They work perfectly and are combined with a WiFi range extender that covers a dead spot in one room of our house. For the record, that dead spot existed with Xfinity as well as TMHI. Good luck with your new service!28Visto3likes0ComentariosRe: How to connect Netgear AC750/EX6100 WiFi Extender with T-Mobile Nokia 5G21 Gateway?
MOST extenders can only use a the 2.4 MHz network. Your default network on the T-Mobile gateway is a combined 2.4/5MHz running WPA2/WPA3 security. Use the T-Mobile phone app to create a new networkin addition to the one that already exists. Make it2.4MHz and set security to WPA/WPA2. Make sure it has a different name than your existing network. Reset your extender and start itssetup over again. This time connect to the new SSID you just created and see if that doesn't fix your problem. ¡Buena suerte!69Visto2likes0Comentarios
