Tplink RE200 doesn't see 5G network
I have an TP Link RE200 range extender. When searching for networks to extend, it successfully finds the 2.4g signal from the TMobile 5g gateway. Even if I go into the Tmobile gateway app and add a separate 5G specific network, the RE200 doesn't see that 5G network. The RE200 does see other 5G networks in the neighborhood, just not the one from the Tmobile gateway. Is there a setting somewhere that might let the RE200 to see the Tmobile gateway's 5G network? Or can someone recommend an extender that definitely recognizes and connects to the Tmobile gateway's 5G network? Gracias.47Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: 5g home internet - phone not autoconnecting..
I found a workaround, which was to use a wifi range extender I had around. I use the range extender to connect to the Tmobile gateway, then connect my phone to the network provided by the range extender. I can now turn my phone wifi on and off and it'll automatically reconnect to the range extender network. Which so far has remained connected to the gateway.I'm using a TP link RE200. On my phone, the download speed is half what it is on my desktop which is connected (wirelessly) directly to the Tmobile gateway. Since I don't do a lot of heavy activity with my phone I think this should be OK.4Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: 5g home internet - phone not autoconnecting..
That didn't do it. I called Tmobile tech support and he hadn't heard of this. We tried creating a new network in the gateway at 2.4g, and it does the same thing. If I turn my phone wifi off then back on, it doesn't auto-connect to this gateway. And actually it has disconnected itself several times today. It's one floor above me, right above me, and the wifi signal is full strength. I don't know what else to try, neither did tech support. My laptop is connected to it without issues when I turn the wifi off and on again.4Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: 5g home internet - phone not autoconnecting..

I have already done the "forget this network" on the old network, and there's no longer a saved password for it, so it's not connecting to that. I did see this issue posted in the forum about a year ago that other people were noticing the same problem, but there was no solution posted. Hoping someone else has had the problem more recently and has found a resolution.4Visto0likes0Comentarios5g home internet - phone not autoconnecting..
Hi all, I just got 5g home internet yesterday. I notice that when leaving home and coming back, my phone does not auto connect to the network. Yes, my phone is configured to auto connect to it, and on my previous internet (AT&T) it auto connected fine when I returned home. To connect my phone to the internet when I get home, I have to go to my phone wifi, then click on the network (the password is already saved). It then connects. Are there any tips or things to check out so that my phone (its a Pixel 3a with Android) will automatically re-connect to this 5g gateway?1.1KViews0likes11Comentarios
