I signed up for the home internet, I live in a small town in western Washington. I decided to get it because my 5G phone gets 80+ mbs down with really nice latency. So I get the box, I get a great 5 bar connection and for a couple days I experienced 80+ mbs down. I'm almost half way through my 14 day trial. During the day and on weekends, I see 0.28 mbps while my phone, right beside the box, gets 80+. For days now I've been testing and testing. At night itimproves for a few hours before it's back to nothing during core work hours. I don't see a point in customer supportpeople across the planet with scripted responses. They wont directly access the box and they wont alleviate any throttling, theysay "the tower is being worked on" or send another box, and all it does is buy time till my trial is over. Am I missing something here? Most people who seem to have an ok experience with the internet live in metro areas where they don't even need it and have other options such as cable. It's advertised to help connect people in more rural locations except it's actually worse than the ancient 3mb dsl option.290Visto2likes3ComentariosRe: 5G Home Internet T-Mobile Gateway needs to be fixed. There is one huge diff with your cable that your short sightedness where my view is long term. TMHI is $50 per month lifetime I am sure you did not get that from any cable company. As noted by others some it works some it does not bottom line if you work at it you can get it to work. But to each his own you gave up that's fine as the gateway you returned there is someone waiting to receive it. But come back next year tell us what your cable bill went up to we all will still be at $50 with no data cap. Oh and it's not personal I just am 100% sure it can work in your location but as I have said many times this is not a take out of the box place on table plug in and it works product. You have to find the right location and maybe even install an antenna that part TM fails at informing customers. But do post the term your cable co gave you I bet it is a year maybe 2 tops then you pay them full price. If your stuff is working, why are you on the forums harassing people who are having problems? You're not being helpful. Saying "If you work at it you can get it to work" is such a strawman argument. You don't think everyone on here hasn't been working at it? Everyone is literally living in a different location. T-Mobile wants to put a box in everyones home if possible, but they are giving priority to mobile users. That's why a 5 bar connection on a trashcan can equal .25 mbs down while a 5g phone right beside it gets 100+mbs. It's not science, and you are being a troll. Same, their "reliable and fast" 5g internet is anything but. It's a complete waste of time and it seems all the people who do have good connections, already have cable available. I've yet to see one person who doesn't live in a major metropolitan area that hasn't had the same issue. 5 bar connection, and I'm lucky if the speed test will even go through. For one day i got 100+ mbs down. Now I can't use it at all for work, it's between 0.5mbs to 6mbs, and webpages wont even load. My 5g phone on the other hand gets 75+ all day every day. Thanks for the "fast and reliable" 5g internet…At least I got a 14 day trial to realize their advertisements are a scam. I picked up their home internet box and they absolutely prioritize mobile users. For one single day I got 100+ mbs on my box. Since then my box, with a full 5 bar connection, says 0.5-2 mbs while my 5g phone always gets 100+mbs on the network. That's during peak hours, between 8am-5pm. You know, the core hours of the day. I have spent days, trying to tweak positioning but it will consistently drop off every morning until every evening. And even at night, I can't always stream a show. It has brought back memories of using a 56k modem and I can't believe I'll be going back to DSL because at least I know I can connect to work. How they can advertise it being "reliable and fast" is beyond me. Because it sure seems like a scam.
