Re: Can't get Tmobile and Assurant to agree on my coverage
What's the first thing any rational person tries to do when their phone stops working? Find a backup phone temporarily and put your sim in it if you can, not go file an insurance claim. But what they don't tell you is that once you put that sim in a different phone, your coverage apparently is no longer tied to the damaged phone. When I added the 360 protection I make the logical assumption that I was covering the phone I purchased when I added the protection, not any phone I throw my sim card into. They need some kind of warning or to ask you if you want to move coverage to the new phone. This ended up creating a whole mess where my claim was denied because I had swapped my phone to my backup phone for a bit and then back to my damaged phone when making my claim and then back to my backup after I completed my claim. My phone screen stopped working, but I could still connect it to a TV to operate it. After 5 hours of being ping ponged back and fourth between T-Mobile and Assurant and hung up on 25% of the time Irealized T-Mobile would do squat for me. Only after posting my frustrations on twitter did I get "lucky" and get immediately routed to a floor manager at Assurant who was able to confirm that my account did have my phone active on it at the time I filed my claim and quickly overrode the denial and approved my claim. They clearly make this difficult for a reason. That reason probably being that the more claims Assurant denies the more money they make. They know that there's enough people who will just give up and be swindled into upgrading a phone with T-Mobile. That's why t-mobile doesn't care either, because t-mobile also makes money when Assurant denies a claim. And even if they loose some customers, if they are making money off of Assurant's scam, they are happy. Just disgusting and sad. Yeah, T-Mobile has gone way down hill. I'll be doing everything I can to find a better carrier. The fact that they don't back up their customer for an insurance service they market under their name is disgusting. I spent at leas 5 hours on the phone being ping ponged back and fourth after being denied a claim because I was swapping my sim from my damaged phone to an older backup phone. Even though I had the sim back in my phone on the date I filed my claim I was told repeatedly by Assurant and T-Mobile that my account didn't show the covered phone on my account on the date of the claim. A supervisor at T-Mobile tried to sell me a new phone at the full costand said their was nothing they could do. Literally they were willing to do nothing. No credit, no new deal on a phone. Total B.S. Finally, only by chance, I got a floor manager at Assurant who was able to dig deeper into my t-mobile account and verify that I in fact had my phone active and covered when I filed my claim and immediately approved my denied claim. The only company I can give some credit to is Assurant for finally coming through. T-Mobile is useless. The only reason I stick with them is the Netflix and Free internationalroaming. Funny that after posting on twitter I got a hold of a floor manager at Assurant who was able to verify that my phone was active on my account and covered when I filed my claim and approved my claim immediately. Took 5+ hours of my time and realizing that T-Mobile will do pretty much nothing to keep me as a customer. I will remember this T-Mobile. Any brand loyalty I had is completely out the window. I'm already looking into other carriers offers. This is how you loose customers T-Mobile. Byeeeeeee! And if I hadn't gotten my issue resolved I would be there right with you on a class action. Yeah, they just did the same thing to me with my s20+. I have been paying $18/mo for protection from the day I bought it 3 years ago. There should be a warning when you put in a new sim. I never signed anything that said coverage changes to a new phone just by putting in a new sim. Did you ever get anything resolved? I think we need to start a class action about insurance coverage. Sue both t-mobile and Assurant. I am suprised there isn't one yet. This reply will probably get me flagged for saying that.
