Can't enable google authenticator

How do you enable google authenticator authentication.  When I log in to my account and click the option to set it up, I immediately get kicked out.  There is an error message about my account being new, but I'v had it months and the message is still there.

    Phone support is no help.  They just keep asking you the same question over and over again like you don't understand.  I keep explaining that t-mobile.com generates and error message and they just ask me to try again.  I've setup google authenticator before.

    Considering T-mobile hasn’t gotten back with me after 21 days, I don’t think there is a fix.
