Surveys from 1112 is virus?
After speaking with T-Mobile support at 611, I got text messages from (916) 436-5649. It says
"Warning! Surveys from sender 1112 and 1115 is a third party virus that can compromise security breach of data from your device such as bank account and social security number. We highly advice to delete it within 12-24hrs. To report the survey please click the link below https://www.usa.gov”
I received the 15 same messages with about 5-10 minutes interval. About ten minutes later after the last received message, a text arrived from sender 1112. It says
"T-Mobile Free Msg: How did we do when you spoke with us on Nov 10? To opt out of the survey reply STOP. Survey information will be stored - t-mo.co/Privacy". 3 more messages were received from the same 1112 with follow up questions.
What's going here? The messages from (916) 436-5649 seems more suspicious to me. The word advice vs advise. And they were annoying by sending repeated message in short time period. Was the surveys from sender 1112 legit?

Hola @tochi How weird that you got messages like that all at once right before receiving our survey! I did confirm that there are a few short codes that we use to send out our customer surveys and 1112 and 1115 are a couple of them. Because of federal laws and regulations, automated messages should always be sent through short codes instead of full phone numbers. This indicates to me that fireguy_6364 is correct when he said that someone spoofed a number to send you a bunch of text messages. I am not sure what the spammers goal was in sending you that message with a valid usa.gov link. That is not where you report spammers/scammers, so following it would just send you on a goose chase. I say again "weird", but the survey message from 1112 is not a scam or a virus.

The link does take me to the real usa.gov website. I've verified the SSL certificate.
My concern is that why would I receive message shortly after having conversation with T-Mobile 611 call? Someone knew I just called T-Mobile and would receive survey from 1112? Data breach inside T-Mobile? My phone doesn't show any sign of abnormal activity other than this.
