Suspicious texts that claim to be from T-Mobile?

I've been a customer for several years. Lately I've been receiving increasingly frequent texts that claim to be from T-Mobile. They aren't coming on Tuesdays.  How can I tell if they're legitimate? Here's a copy of a recent one.

  • Today, I received an email from T-Mobile saying to "complete a short survey and win a free iPad Pro". Because I have been frequenting the T-Mobile website a lot lately looking for new products and speaking with customer services a lot, I thought this was a legit email so I completed the survey. At the end of the survey it stated I need to pay for shipping in order to receive the free gift - BIG RED FLAG!! I contacted T-Mobile's customer care chat to ask about the legitimacy of the email and was told they did not any information on this and to not provide my credit card information - WHICH I DIDN'T.
