Why does T-Mobile Make Magenta - Military Verification so difficult?
#1 … I used my VA ID to authenticate who I was when I opened my account. Shouldn't that suffice as verification for a Military Magenta Account?
#2 … Why does the date of separation in the verification app only go back top 2001? Are there no people who served in the military prior to 2001? Here I am! Living Proof!
#3 … If there are specific parameters for uploading proof of service, why are they not listed on the page next to the upload tab/button? Just spell it out … i.e., we accept jpegs, gifs, tifs, & png files up to 1mb in size.
Why does it always have to be a guessing game with these tech gurus? Are they not supposed to be "IT Specialists." Is "user friendly" even part of the vernacular at T-Mobile.
Likewise, if there are specific documents, that SheerID accepts to verify your Military affiliation, why not spell them out in black and white? Or at least provide a link to the SheerID webpage where they define the criteria for verification of your military service.
Having left Verizon for T-Mobile because of their lack of customer service, have I leapt out of the frying pan and into the fire? Am I going to have to prod them every time they fail to see the obvious?
Are Mike Sievert, Nestor Cano, Dow Draper, Peter A Ewans, Callie Fields, Jon Fryer, Janice V Kapner, Michael J Katz, Deanne King, Susan Loosemore, David A Miller, Peter Osvaldik, Neville Ray, Abdul Saad, John Saw, Matt Staneff, and Brian King reading this? Or are they asleep at the wheel; complacent and cozy in their comfort zone, feeling no need to improve on their inherited success?

I'm having the same issue. They wouldn't accept my USAF issued retired ID card. Took me two days to get the link to upload it. Then I was told to send a photo of my VA issued ID card. Took 6 hours to get the link to upload it. Rejected again. I finally took a picture of my DD 214 and have been trying to upload it for 8 hours. Tried to contact SheerID and got a failure notice saying that I wasn't authorized to post to that group. Apparently this has been going on for over 2 years and T-Mobile, who supposedly cares so much about veterans, doesn't seem t care enough to put in a couple hours work to get the system straightened out. T-Mobile says they will accept almost anything that proves your service, but won't accept official ID cards?

Just compress the image you want to upload, (mines went from 2.9MB to 610KB).
When I went to upload, it got accepted!

Same problems, driving me insane. Local store offers zero help, really miss sprint. End of this month I am dropping tmobile and taking my business elsewhere. Signal is worse with tmobile than sprint in the same location.

It amazes me how a company ran website can't be accessed by store or on phone employees. The name listed on my military verification page is incorrect, I can't edit it and so far it seems like no one at TMobile can either. I feel like a ping pong ball going back and forth between the 2. The reps are nice enough but at this point I would prefer a rude rep who actually accomplished my request of correcting the error. Has anyone else experience this issue? And as previous people have stated it would be nice if a file size limit was stated instead of simply rejecting uploads.
