Galaxy Note 8 issues

I'm having a couple of issues with my Galaxy Note 8.  For the last few days, the phone battery is not lasting as long anymore, requiring more frequent charging.  Also been having texting problems.  Many of the texts I try to send come back as failed.  Also, as I'm typing my text message, the cursor will suddenly go back to the beginning of the text right when I'm in the mddle of typing a word.

  • pull up your battery usage and see whats burning up battery life..

more than likely though since you have more than one issue and theyre not related im leaning towards the back up and factory reset as well..hopefully get 2 birds with one stone

Master resetting the phone is a great way to solve a ton of problems in one fell swoop. Sometimes, it can be a bit of a drastic step for some people. There are some other things you can do for these issues if you want to try a few things before jumping to the master reset.

    1. Battery - update the software and all apps. Borrar la partición de la caché. In settings, check which apps are using battery and make sure there are no unexpected apps listed.
    2. Texts fail to send - Delete as many text messages as you can (All of them if possible). Clear data from the message app (Settings> Apps> Messages> Storage> Clear Data> It has a scary message about deleting everything, but I have done it tons of times and you won't lose the messages you decided to keep. It just clears out some background stuff.)
    3. Keyboard is jumping around as you type - Do the same clear data steps from above but from the keyboard app. When you go to Apps, you might have to select the drop down at the top to show all apps. The Keyboard may also be listed under Google Keyboard or Samsung Keyboard.

    Hope this helps.

Have you tried factory resetting the device?  Being that old of a device.  It has not had an updates in years and is long beyond the support window.

I've had the same problem with texting on my Galaxy Note 8 in addition to the fact that the phone will not ring or rings one time, then goes to voice mail.  Initially I was told that I needed a new Sim card.  That was 2 weeks ago and I'm having the problem again.  A tech support representative just told me that Samsung is retiring this phone and that is probably the reason that Note 8 users are experiencing so many problems.  I'm just going to get another phone.  It's too frustrating for me.

I called T Mobile today….this is a current problem….the Note8 is not compatible with 5G….I have a wty on my phone...but they are replacing this phone with a Note20 for 5.00 only…..my deductible is more….so maybe if you call 611...customer support and tell them whats happening they will give you the same deal….Good Luck
