LG IMS has stopped
Could someone from T-Mobile support please respond to one of the questions about this topic with an update as to what we should to or when we can expect this to be fixed?
Hey everybody!
Great news!! LG was able to release new updates that fully resolve the recent "IMS stopped" pop up issues. The fix is pretty quick and can be found on our support site. Here is the link that you can follow to see how to install the needed updates. IMS de LG se detuvo | Asistencia de T-Mobile
In a few short clicks, those pesky popups will be a thing of the past.

At last! Fixed for me! Here's what I did. I had to "combine" some of the suggestions to come up with the correct "elixir" to fix this:
First: Go to Airplane mode…
Second: Haz lo siguiente:
Ve a Configuraciones → Apps/notifications -> app info -> three dots -> Show System -> com-lge-ims-rcsprovider -> storage
Force stop and clear data (from Data Usage).
For me, at this point the popups stopped, but only if in Airplane Mode… If I exited Airplane Mode, they continued. So, at this point, DO NOT EXIT AIRPLANE MODE YET.
Third: Do the following…
- Enter the code 277634#*# on the dial pad to get into Operator Hidden Menu.
- RAT_Selection → LTE only
Fourth: Exit Airplane Mode…. For me, at this point, the popups were gone!
I have a v20, and this is what fixed it for me.

YAY thanks. I was pushing buttons bc on my LG 3 Arista there were no 3 dots where I was told so I muddled thru. Not sure how I fixed it lol...but no more pop up 😁

If customers are experiencing the error pop -up for IMS, follow the below instructions to resolve.

2. Once Airplane Mode is enabled, open "Settings" Open Apps
3. Select App info
4. Click 3 green dots in upper right corner of screen Select show System
5. Select com.lge...ims.rcsprovider (you may also use the search icon on top of the screen search "lge..ims)
6. Open storage
7. Select "Clear Data" Clear Cache"
8. Go back to storage click Force Stop
You mayhave to do this a few times to resolve the issue

I FINALLY found a 100% FIX and solution to the issue with LG Phones on T-Mobile. Been having this issue for several days now and need my phone. It may come as a shock but some people do work on the phone and dont just use it for selfies and social media garbage. So here is STEP by STEP of what I did to resolve issue
STEP 1: Drive to store
STEP 2: Buy SIM card from another carrier (assuming your phone is unlocked)
STEP 3: Insert SIM to your LG Phone
DONE (TOTAL under $20)
Now my phone works 100% no messages, no loss of SMS or calls and no excuses from dumb T-Mobile. If everyone does this maybe TMobile will straighten their act up (If not then they still lose customers)
Dont let T-Mobile con you into getting a new phone from them. Its been DAYS and they didnt even officially address the issue or come up with a viable solution.
If they expect the users to come up with solutions on our own to issues they cause then they better pay us. If not then that isnt our job. We buy a service/produt and expect it to work. I dont pay my bill every month to figure out phone issues and do your jobs for you.
See now because your incompetence you lost a customer. Sure you have tons of customers and dont care about 1 of them, but 1 here, 2 there, another 12 here and it adds up and before you know it you are running specials and loss-leaders to try and get more customers. Get your acts together stop running things like amateurs before more customers of yours wisen up and switch.

The other thread has a fix I copied below, it worked on my Stylus 4. Be persistent, keep tapping what you need thru the popups.

This has fixed the issue for my mother's v20. At least for now…
At least it took away the 3 second pop up notice. However, I did shut down & restart and the messaged started popping up again. So I redid the above directions and the annoying pop up message has stopped,
I tried this on my Stylus 4 and "IT WORKED". Thanks for the info because this was driving me nuts!

The fix for clearing the data will work but you must do this 1st.
1. Turn off Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi calling.
2. Put phone in Airplane mode .
3. Go to settings → Apps/notifications -> app info -> three dots -> Show System -> com-lge-ims-rcsprovider -> storage and clear data. Then go to Force Stop. Then go back and forth and clear the data at least 4 times. If you don't clear it this many times then the message will return once you take it out of Airplane mode.
Did the data clear without turning off Wi-Fi, though I'm guessing turning off Wi-Fi makes it easier to clear the data before the process restarts. Either way, I only had to clear the data once and it stopped failing.

LG IMS keeps stopping I will take you guys word for it that they know about it and they're working on it. I've tried everything. I even did the factory reset and it still came back luckily I didn't lose anything but If they don't fix it with some kind of update from the phone or Google play I guess I'll just have to get a new phone because this is driving me nuts. I tried the above tip and it didn't work for me. the app is wacked out.

I have an LG Stylo 4 on our plan, it is having the same problem as everyone else here, I have tried the cache/data clearing, airplane mode, no wi-fi, etc…… I can get the message to stop showing up if I put the phone in Airplane mode, clear the data/cache, and then get it to force stop. Only problem the minute I take it out of airplane mode I'm back to square one. This is very frustrating; the phone is my fathers who is 78 y/o and this is his primary source of communication and his lifeline in the event of trouble. Yes, he can still call and message if needed, but the amount of frustration and confusion on what to do with the notice has him overwhelmed.
Shame on Tmo, LG or Both for not pushing a notice to customers that this a known system wide issue. If they have a plan to correct it, say something so people don't start factory resetting their devices for no reason. Or make a system level change in the hopes of solving the problem.
