replacement phone SIM card

A replacement S20+ was received today to replace a water damaged instrument of like kind through Protect360 program.  The quickstart card gives two options for which SIM card to use: 1) the original card, or 2) the included new SIM card.

Given that the original SIM (already registered, of course) was exposed to water, can it still be used ?

If the old one used, is there any down side to doing so (could it have water damage?).

If the new one is used is there any advantage (upgraded chip/firmware, etc.) that makes it worth having to add the registration steps?

In the absence of response, I decided to use the original SIM Card which is already registered.

Kept the new SIM Card as backup incase an issue develops.

Call Tmobile customer support directly and ask them which one you should use. Tmobile bills and recognizes devices by the SIM and not the device. While the phone may be functioning fine, there could be issues/confusion down the road if Tmobile is expecting you to activate your new SIM. You're probably fine, but best to confirm now rather than wait for account issues to start happening.
