Calls not reaching phone
For about 8 months now, since i ported my number to tmobile, i have had nothing but issues with receiving calls. most of the time i do not get notifications or missed calls on the phone itself. even from on net tmobile numbers. i had my brother attempt to call my phone and he is a tmobile user. out of 5+ attempts to call my line where he said he was getting the vm greeting, one call came through to the phone. i attempted to call it from another line and got a system greeting for vm, but no ring on the phone after 3 attempts to call it. I have missed job opportunities due to this issue. i attempted to reach out to support, but unfortunately I only speak English, and the reps could not understand my issue. I have attempted to factory reset the phone, multiple power cycles and reboots yet maybe 1 out of 10 calls come to my phone. Sometimes it takes a few hours for the voicemail to actually get to my phone if one is made.
I am at my ends here, Any Suggestions?

What device are you using? Is it a device you purchased from T-Mobile?

Thanks for your reply, It is not a phone i purchased from tmobile. i purchased it as an unlocked generic phone (non branded) from amazon. An LG G8
At the time i purchased the phone i was not sure what carrier i wanted to go to, so i purchased an unbranded one. - syaoranTransmission Titan
Makes me wonder if the device isn't compatible with T-Mobile's VoLTE implementation, which is needed to make calls over 4G LTE. LG exited the smartphone market a few years ago leaving all of their devices end of life.

Gotcha. Thank you again.
i did take it into a store when i ported my number, and they checked the compatibility of it, saying it was a great phone and would work fine.
Thanks for the info!

T-Mobile is dismantling its 3G network, which it was probably falling back on to. At the time, it might have been more suited to the network but with more and more 5G expansion, T-Mobile has moved away from legacy service to strengthen their network for the future of cellular technology.
