DNS Issues

5G Mobile iPhone won’t resolve a specific site of mine, that I can go onto WiFi and resolve just fine.

For some reason virtualshrine.com won't resolve on iPhone 15 5G. I have it fine on other networks.

I can resolve the webserver the domain is pointing to just fine…

  • I drove over the border to NC yesterday and it worked just fine. Now I am back in Virginia and it is still working. I am happy now.

It might be something related to Apple or the browser while you are using mobile data.  No issues loading the site in Brave, Edge, or FireFox on my s23 Ultra over data.

  • Yeah, still having issues. My friend with iPhone across town has the same issue with the same site. Site worked fine until about 5pm yesterday, then started with the Cannot Resolve jazz.

Hey there. Can you share the specific error message you are getting when trying to go to that website? A screenshot might be helpful too.

Safari doesn’t work on same phone either.

Do you mean that Safari does not go to any website or you tried that website from Safari and another browser and neither worked?

Thanks for the clarification so we can try and help you get this figured out.

  • Now it's back to the same old problems. I think every time I change a txt DNS entry TMobile takes down the entire DNS. Is there some type of DNS delay for security reasons or something?

  • I think I have it figured out but it is strange. When I update any part of the DNS record, through the propagation, the TMobile DNS server deletes the current record, and waits 24 hours to update. It's real weird, the rest of the internet DNS doesn't do this.
