Hotspot and Canada/Mexico Data Usage with upcoming end of 3G & 2G
As an Essentials customer, I'm entitled to a 3G Hotspot and 2G data coverage in Canada & Mexico. My understanding is that T-Mobile (and the other phone carriers) will be shutting down their 2G and 3G networks during 2022.
After the 2G & 3G networks are shut down, will my Hotspot coverage be upgraded to 4G (LTE)? How will data usage in Canada and Mexico be handled?

More than likely, your hotspot data will continue as normal, just using 4G LTE and 5G but throttled down to 2G and 3G speeds. Canada is a long way away from being able to eliminate 3G. Even the 4G in Canada isn't great outside of most cities and 5G in Canada is pretty much laughable currently.
