Pixel 6 - no service

I'm getting the issue where I can't receive calls or texts. If I try to send texts it will fail. If I choose the option to resend, then I'll get a flood of backlogged text messages, and voicemails from missed calls. This occurs dozens of times a day.

I have factory reset my phone, then I did not re-import anything (I did add my gmail account, which brought in my contacts).

I have contacted technical support. They reset my connection on their end. I suppose you could say that fixed it for about 20 minutes, but the issue is back.

Does anyone know of a permanent fix, or is there a planned fix from T-Mobile?

  • The issue is known by Google but there is very little acknowledgent or action to fix it.  It isn't exclusive to T-Mobile and this issue also affects the 6a's, 7's, and 7a's, although not all devices are impacted.

  • since you mentioned the P6 possibly being the problem im jumping over to V and checking their reports with their Google line..

spotted a decent amount of mentions for the P6 but nothing glaring at me…however this one caught my eye..

wonder if its a certain band that your phone is having issues with? and seeing as how TMO is VoLTE now (or almost fully now) if it was having issues with a certain band then calls would be junked as well..and texts.

are you able to go into your network settings and switch away from 5G and see if it starts working fine?

seeing a ton of texting issues with the P6...only other thing im really seeing..

  • Sim card - good thought, thank you.
The sim card works flawlessly in another phone. It looks like some of the search results are being repressed, but according to a general Google search, this is most likely a widespread issue with Pixel 6 phones, and may not even be limited to T-Mobile.
I do wonder… If I bought the phone through T-Mobile, would they do anything? (it was about 1.5 years ago)

  • go into a store and see if they can swap your sim card..the sim card tells the phone what network to look for..could be the problem. no amount of resets will fix a sim card.

probably should have been the first question but physical sim card or esim?

  • Well… I found a solution. Use a different phone. :(
Still no resolution, even after spending a few hours with multiple different support reps. Resets (such as the network reset) can (sometimes) resolve the issue for minutes at a time but the issue comes right back.

  • If I switch to airplane mode, then back to normal, it will resolve the issue for a few minutes, but the issue will always come back (same for a phone restart).

The full phone reset seemed to help it for closer to ½ a day, but even before I added any other apps it started to happen again (so it’s not some other app I’ve added to the phone).
