Selecting the internal Directional antenna?

The GAR (white panel) transceiver is indicated to have both a Directional and OMNI-directional antenna.  My unit is located 1.5 feet from window with line of sight to 5G/LTE tower .5 miles away but only indicates a GOOD signal.

Is there a way to select the Directional internal antenna?  Incidentally, I have 5 bars of 5G signal on phone and Internet data rates less than 100MBS.

Lastly… with slider closed, on n41

    N41 sinr 13, rsrp -105

    B66 sinr 16, rsrp -98

    Speed 453/32

Basically… check to see if you're on n41, if not, reboot and hopefully it picks up.  Tmobile typically punts it to n71, so im looking into an external waveform antenna

I have the same model.  Indoors, either 'good' (glass sider double paned), very good (slider open or on table near wall beyond the sliding door).

    Listed as.ative antenna

Speeds vary depending on band and SINR value more than anything especially with n41

    N71 sinr 7, rsrp -93

    B66 sinr 15, rsrp -101 is “good”

    Speed 215/53

    Open slider

    N71 sinr 10, rsrp -87

    B66 sinr 24, rsrp -86

    Speed 241/75

    Reboot for n41

    N41 sinr 17, rsrp -97

    B66 sinr 25, rsrp -87

    Speed 556/76

NOTE:  This has hit +700 in the morning.

You cannot change the antenna type unless you buy an external antenna from TMobile or other 3rd party. If all you have the GAR gateway you default to omnidirectional which means internal antenna.

Having said that, I recommend that you do try to "aim" the GAR and bring up the antenna signal numbers in the app to see if rotating it around changes the values. If you need help understanding the numbers there are several posts in here that explain it.
