T-Mobile 5G Connection Issues causing missed Texts, Calls, and Voicemail - NO DATA!
I just don't understand the disconnect or differences in the 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G wireless generations and why 5G seems to be so different. I never had to second guess what my status bar is indicating.
I have had “5G” connection issues on Apple, Samsung, and now Google devices.
Random errors like "emergency calls only" or no signal whatsoever. Or full 5G UC access - yet I can dial my phone and watch it not ring or indicate a missed call. I can even send a text message or leave a voicemail and neither ever arrive. Thought this issue was limited to Samsung and Apple.
Got a Pixel - same issue - so I think it’s the Tech itself and/or the tower but not the devices.
Had 5G + on my Pixel 6 - placed a call while out and it rang but left voicemail - nothing. Realized the voicemail didn't pop up - tried again - nothing. Then I got a "missed" call. Yet no ring. When asked, the person said it rang but it was a long delay, and it didn't seem like a regular ring. Not sure why this is but when 5G is enabled, at some point your device "disconnects" from the network and you have no idea you have missed any contact attempts.
Turn 5G off? Walla! Issues are gone. Smh
Did those two voicemails ever pop up? Nope! Still waiting. Imagine if someone called me during this time, left their dying will on my voicemail and I would not have any clue they called me, let alone that they left a message. Meanwhile my phone shows connected and full 5G access.
T-Mobile engineers need to speak on this, and they need to stop this 5G push if it isn't even reliable. NEVER had to ponder if my device is connected or not with LTE. NEVER.
I guess I will try 5G when 6G comes out ……….

I can't speak for your area and devices, but I have a Samsung S21 and don't have issues in my area on 4G.LTE or 5g. I have disabled 5g n71 (SA/NSA) as it typically has performance issues in urban areas. 4G LTE will typically give me 150-400Mbps, and 5G UC will give 500-1400Mbps. As far as Apple goes, i can't speak much for it, but have heard of some issues. If you disable n71 (easy on Samsung), you'll at least get LTE 600 in weak areas.

Glad to know it is not just me. Between my family we have Galaxy S21s, S20s, and the A32 5G, and all exhibit this horrible "silent no connection" issue on 5G (Slightly over from the previous poster in Austin, TX). I'll have 5 BARS at 5G UC, but can't get an SMS out, and Speedtest can't even find a server to start. I switch it to force LTE and I get 4 bars but 140 Mbps data. Seriously WTF.
It's really annoying though is that some of the 5G bands do better in dense areas or inside a building (walking around an outdoor outlet mall, perfect example of this), LTE in that environment is bad to non-existent, yet 5G will work albeit poorly. I wish I could change the connection priority around to LTE at the top and NR (5G) below it, so when LTE isn't working it will fall back to 5G which MIGHT actually work.

first I would like to say that t mobile is the worst ever service in houston tx i can not for the love of god stand these folks so let me tell you i am a us army vet who has been over seas a few times and lets say we all have had our issues and well to make a long story short i was driving home had a really bad tire blow out it reminded me of something like a ied going off a few vehicles ahead, mind you i am on highway 290 and cars are going abour 78-93 miles per hour i am trying to regain control and when i do i am at a median thats right next to the highway, i dont have much space to change my tire and my biggest issue is i have no damn service even though i have an iphone 13 pro max, i had the same issue in baytown over a year ago as well so , it sucks that when you have an emergency the damn network never seems to work i am stuck with tmobile since i got a 12pro max with them and im still waiting on the credits hence for my 13 i went with apple, back to the story i couldn’t call anyone nor road side assistance so i had to risk my life to replace a tire when i could have easily been struck, i truly hate these people with all my heart, they dont give 2 damns about a veteran they never resolve any issue the network has been shit for years thats why i am trying to get away from them i cant stand them i hope they all get f+cking covid all at the same time and go into bankruptcy, i really hate these people they read of a damn script this shit is faker than the porn on porn hub. serious i hate these people the network never ever seems to work no matter how may resets and refreshed you do.

T-Mobile 5G is terrible. I had to turn mine off on my Pixel 5G and use LTE. When I was connected to 5G I did a speed test and the best was 14 mbps.
