How do I connect a Netgear Nighthawk wifi range extender to the T-Mobile internet gateway

I can connect the AX1800 range extender to the 2.4G connection to TMobile but it will not see the 5G connection. I've tried resetting the Netgear extender but it still doesn't see the 5G connection.
