2.4g devices not connecting to T-Mobile Home Network
- Hace 3 años
Yall are making this WAY harder than it has to be.
1. Open the T-mobile Internet app
2. Go to the Network tab at the bottom
3. Click on the "+" sign to add a network
4. Add in the information for a 2nd network and change the frequency band to 2.4 GHz.
Done. Easy. Now you have 2 networks and 1 is 2.4 only. I had to figure this out myself as this thread was trash.
Thank you so much Katiejo123! Your advice was exactly spot on. My Samsung fridge could not find my T-mobile Gateway network (5G/2.4ghz, automatic) after many tries, so I did what you said: I added a designated 2.4ghz network to my system (which does not cost anything to those who might wonder) and specifically chose WPA2. It also was helpful to reset the Samsung fridge wifi too. Finally I ran the entire process on the Smart Things app and my new 2.4ghz network was recognized and appeared as a network choice, and I made sure to use WPA2 (not combined WPA2/WPA3) and it finally connected! Thanks for your solid advice!
