Trouble With Wi-Fi Mesh Access Point

I just got the new Tmobile  5G Gateway wifi router. It also came with a Wi-Fi Mesh Accest Point. The Gateway is working great, when I tried to connect the Wi-Fi Mesh Extender it gave me messages that it wouldn't connect, I then tried connecting using the provided LAN cable and it still failed as per the message on my phone. I went out and left it connected and somehow the extender turned green which is the indicator that it is supposed to be connected and working. My problem is I don't see the mesh extender anywhere on any of my devices when I pull up available WIFI in my house. Is this normal for it not to show up? Is it hidden or suing the same name as the Gateway? Does anyone have it showing and what would it come up as?

  • So I am assuming that means that only the gateway will show up but mesh is working. I hope you're right.

I don’t have a mesh, but my understanding is that the entire mesh uses the same SSID(s) as the gateway.

Any updates on this?  They set up my mesh at the store.  In my app, there is no button or link to add a device, and even though my mesh is green, it does not show up in the app.  I read on a t-mobile instruction site that I should see each mesh device, in addition to the gateway.  But all I see is the gateway.

How do I know if the mesh is really connected?  Is the green light all I need to see?
