Gateway Trouble

My wife and I became costumers of T Mobile in June. We also got internet service. As of today, August 12th, we have gotten a second gateway for internet since June. It still keeps lagging, and it still keeps going offline. What should we do? We have looked at reviews of the internet, and the internet reviews aren't very good. We plan on keeping our phone plan. It keeps disconnecting and throwing up error code WAN002. What should we do about our internet?

  • I came across the following user developed article explaining the several reasons for WAN02 and 05 error codes: https://networkbuildz.com/fix-t-mobile-home-internet-error-codes-wan002-wan005-and-cel002/

About ½ through the article the author explains a few steps on how to overcome the errors including unplug and restart the gateway, remove and reinsert the SIM card (or go to the local T-Mobile store and ask for a replacement SIM card - it could be defective), or do a device reset.

@tpeppers the error code WAN002 seems to be an issue with the SIM card, according to the following thread. The fix was to "reseat" the SIM card. If the card does not make a good connection, it sounds reasonable you would have issues. Depending on which device you have, just press it and it should pop-up, and then press it back into place.

See page 7 on this Arcadyan gateway manual: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/public-files/attachments/t-mobile-arcadyan-kvd21-user-guide-english.pdf

    I hope the helps.

I recently got T-Mobile Internet works pretty good I also, keep getting a code LAN0003 . My problem is I thought it was 50.00 with auto pay. I set auto pay up with a credit card my second payment it went to 55.00.

I called about it they told me it had to  be a Debit  card, or my bank account number.

I wasn't told that to start with. I don't trust giving out my account number.  I think this is so wrong.

@SDunn T-Mobile recently changed their billing process to exclude credit cards and save $$ with debit cards. I was able to quickly change mine from my credit card to my credit union debit card, and still get the discount.

Long term it is worth the change in my humble opinion.

The T-Mobile 5G internet worked good for 6 months, then started randomly breaking connection and displaying error code WAN002.  They tested the home unit remotely and told me to go to the nearest T-Mobile store to have a new SIM card installed.  After I returned home with the newly installed SIM card in the Router, the WAN002 code started again after a half hour of use.  The next tech said it was a cell tower issue.  After waiting 5 days for them to check the cell towers in my area the code went away.  Have T-Mobile run checks on the cell towers in your area if the SIM card does not resolve the issue.
