I want to buy a phone off a friend but I’m scared he might report it stolen and idk what to do to prevent that
What makes you think they will report it stolen? If you don't think the purchase is going to go well. Don't do it! You don't want to be out money for a device you might not even be able to use, if the seller decides to report it stolen. You can always check Swappa for good used and new buying options as well as consider an EIP on a T-Mobile a postpaid account or through one of the many options BestBuy and other retailers offer. Some manufacturers even offer payment plans, like Samsung.
There's not much if he has the imei number and If you think he may report the phone stolen he's not really a friend.
