promotions lowered for military, first responder and 55 accounts

I'm extremely disappointed with T-Mobile and their decision to lower promotions for some of there GO5G specialty plans. It's feels like discrimination at that point. I'm going to switch to a new phone provider that still gives me a military benefit but doesn't lower my trade in value on a new phone. T-MOBILE  is pissing a lot of members off by doing this. Really bad member care!

  • We'd also just learned of this "demotion" when we went into the T-Mobile store a week ago, and the employee even felt bad telling us this news regarding the switch to military/first-responders not getting the same trade-in value as everyone else. The employee (under their breath) said they wouldn't blame us if we looked elsewhere for a new carrier, and that we weren't the only ones to leave the store really disappointed in T-Mobile. Time to vote with our wallets.

  • I know, just another way for T-Mobile to disappoint its customers. I know ATT doesn't do that for its customers. Looks like it's finally time to leave T-Mobile.

  • I'm just really disappointed by this policy.  I'm fairly new to T-Mobile when I came over and have been happy with everything for the most part.  I just don't think this is really fair because they did give us a discount of rate because of our service but now they're taking away what every other customer would have because of the discount so in the end, it's not really a discount anymore.

I would just request that if anybody from T-Mobile management reads this they would reconsider that policy.  Many of us because of our service already are down to one income as it is to support our careers and this is just something that helps us.  This policy will make me consider shopping around once my phone is paid off after the 24 month period.

So thank you for your consideration.

They changed it on October 4th. The more discounted your plan is the less you're going to get in trade in so it's now tiered depending on your plan.

  • As a loyal T-Mobile customer for over a decade, I'm disappointed by recent experiences that feel inequitable toward military members, first responders, and customers over 55. While I appreciate the existing discount, it's frustrating that we're unable to access additional promotions, particularly when the terms aren't fully transparent-like needing to purchase phones on the first day a promotion is offered.

I'm committed to supporting companies that value long-standing customers and those who serve our communities. It's discouraging to feel that loyalty and service go unrecognized. I hope T-Mobile can find a way to make promotions accessible and fair for all customers.

  • Go check out U.S. Mobile. They have plans with Verizon (Warp), AT&T (Dark Star), and T-Mobile (Light Speed). My husband and I will be switching next month when our phones are paid off. We're doing the shared data 10GB plan, it includes unlimited calling and texting, hot spot, and unlimited international calling and for our 2 lines, it will be $28/month TOTAL. Incluye impuestos y cargos.

They also have something called teleport, where you can switch to another network if you're traveling or just want to try it out. They have a subreddit and the owner & customer service reps post there a lot. They're really helpful with any questions.
