How to disable a device connected to wifi
I have been trying to disable my kids' laptop and other devices from the internet to limit their screen time. But when I go to toggle the button off (white) in the T-Mobile application next to their device's name it resets back to on (pink). I cannot figure out how to disable it. I think they figured out away to hack their computers so that I cannot control their internet access any more. So if any one has any insight to how to fix this. Please let me know.

@TamiDi it is my experience that the T-Mobile Internet app is not very robust. Generally, it is a "gateway" for the user to access the T-Mobile cellular network. If you want to perform functions like limiting device access, then you might want to consider a separate wifi router like the Netgear MR60. The TP-Link AC1200 can be purchased on Amazon for about $30; https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-AC1200-Router-Archer-A54/dp/B09G5Y1HWZ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=6P34YYOQ8SJY&keywords=wifi%2Brouter&qid=1692629923&sprefix=wifi%2Brouter%2Caps%2C211&sr=8-3&th=1 Almost any newer wifi router will offer features you are looking for.
Your new setup world work like this: T-Mobile gateway > wifi router > devices (your current setup is probably: gateway > devices).
I hope this helps.

I have the same thing ...device I can't control from app. It's a waste of time to even try and contact the " next level customer care" I have tried for over a month just to get the passcode to my voice mail fixed from changing itself every so often. My frustration is the " next level"

Hola TamiD,
That absolutely should be working as you're expecting it to. This forum is not regularly monitored by T-Mobile Support, but if you can place a call with them (1-844-275-9310) and have them file an escalation ticket, this will be looked into. Please have included in the ticket:- What smartphone OS you’re using the app on (iOS or Android), and the version
- Which gateway model you have (the support rep can help you with this if you’re unsure)
- The gateway firmware version (can be found in the ‘More’ tab of the app, and the support rep can also help you find this)
- The type of devices you’re observing this with (you mentioned a laptop and other devices - specifics will help)

If still stumped: go into your WiFi settings on specific device your having the problem with, the WiFi device is connecting to should have a mini i for information, select the i, scroll through the settings to make sure that the auto connect feature is toggled in the off direction or is grey. Close settings, restart device to verify problem does not persist. You can also (if using a T-Mobile home internet device or even have the devices listed on your T-Mobile account online you should be able to restrict any specific device(s) for specific times, usage, block access as well as viewable content) my T-Mobile home internet device allows for limiting certain devices by time block or removing access if I choose. I hope something above is a solution for you & anyone else. Stay blessed 😇
