IP Address and Geolocation - Shanghai, China
Periodically, I get an IP address in the range of 172.59.72.X, and this seems to get geolocated to Shanghai, China.
When this happens, my work's conditional access policy will block my login. Additionally, I noticed some parts of Windows, such as the weather and news flyout, will be in Chinese when this happens.
My work’s IT department says the geolocation data isn’t their issue to resolve, so I thought I would post it here.

I can't put my finger on it, but there was another post about a similar problem. The correct answer in that string was to reconfiguración the gateway, not just restart it, the same as @syaoran suggested above. Any chance you gave that a try?

I recently had the same problem with an existing subscription to the NY Times. I fixed it by using a VPN---I use Mullvad VPN, but any of them would work---and changed the VPN server to something close to me. That fixed the problem immediately.
All of the VPN providers have a free trial. Try downloading on and see if that doesn't fix the problem with geolocation.
¡Buena suerte!

Factory reset the gateway.

for what its worth the site here is primarily peer to peer assistance..for anything that might need to be accessed through your account you will need to contact TMO through either calling in (tier 1 support) or through one of their social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter (tier 2 support)

You have Huawei 5G equipment in your area? LOL

172.59.72.X resolves to T-Mobile US.

I have the same problem. I live in S. Florida but my external IP from T-Mobile geolocates me in Seattle. The only problem I've found is that one of my on-line subscriptions thinks I'm a phony and refuses to let me log-in. I'm going to experiment with a VPN that will locate me in the same place where I live, not where T-Mobile thinks I live.

Yes, it resolves to Tmobile US as the organization, but the geolocation data has it as...Shanghai, China.
This corresponds with the Chinese language that appears when I have an IP address in that range.

I haven’t tried the reset yet, but I’ll do that later as it seems that it may not help in my case.
After communicating with T-Mobile's contact for ARIN, the issue appears to be bad data my work is getting for geolocation data. That seems plausible as other IP lookup sites put it in Kansas City, MO.
That also jives with data found at the link below provided via ARIN and T-Mobile.

I am having the same issues at my job currently...have you identified a way to get the correct geo data?
