new voice mail and it's asking me to setup voicemail
- Hace 5 meses
I was VERY nervous about this because in this day and age I trust no one, LOL. I took the plunge and went through setting it up. I used my old pin and it let me proceed; I was able to go through it without entering any new info by pressing the # key. Everything is the same and I was able to get into my voicemails after that. It's definitely an annoyance but it's safe guys. They also give you the option to get into your voicemails without entering a pin like before. Hope this helps. BevyT
I received the voice mail reset prompt this evening while trying to access it by pressing 1 on the keypad. I too was leery and reached out to T-Mobile customer service chat. I did not get the help needed but fortunately found this thread.
I could see that Visual Voicemail app was working fine. My saved voicemail messages were still there and when I selected the three bars in the left corner and then selected app settings, I was able to change my PIN # and verify that my Greeting message was unchanged.
Ten minutes later, I called the Voicemail system by dialing 1 on my phone. The system asked me to set up the phone. I entered the PIN I entered in the Visual Voicemail app. After that I carefully followed the steps laid out by Christileilani. It worked!
Thank you to BevyT for your reassurance; to Christileilani for the dial up voicemail instructions; and to Happyday for distinguishing the different actions needed to update both system voicemail and Visual Voicemail app!
