weak connection
No matter where I put my gateway it shows weak connection and only 2 bars. Even if I put it where the app tells me to.

I agree with John and Copz. The numbers are really unimportant. What matters is performance. I don't even bother with Speedtest anymore. If I can stream music or TV, and my computer and iPhone are behaving the way I want, then I am a happy camper.
IMO, there is too much emphasis on numbers and not enough on performance. I left Xfinity for T-Mobile, and while I was getting way more bandwidth from Xfinity, most of it was wasted and didn't contribute a hoot to the performance of my Internet. T-Mobile is a new type of Internet called Fixed Wireless Internet (FWI). The biggest difference is that there is no tier pricing. You don't pay for a certain level of speed, but rather get the best speed the tower can offer. As FWI networks continue to grow, the performance will continue to grow. There is no question that it is less expensive for a provider to offer FWI rather than running a cable down the street, into your lawn and up to your house. That's why I think that FWI is the future of ISPs.

The signal strength, quality, and noise ratio the box interface reports are meaningless or in error. Looking at my numbers which are very poor, I should not be receiving any video. BUT I have 3 bars and excellent video and internet.

@saramcgowan you might want to call the customer support number. They can tell you which cell tower you are attached to, which can help you with your gateway placement. It is likely that you are attached to the wrong cell tower. Moving and aligning the gateway with the correct tower will make a significant improvement in your signal.
¡Buena suerte!

Good point, the "bars" only provide a perspective on the signal strength. Doing a Speedtest will tell you exactly what your upload and download speeds are, which is what really counts.

Exactly my experience, Ahallasjr.
